On November 10, a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) exploded near a police station in Lashkargah city of Helmand province in southern Afghanistan, according to the Afghan Tolo TV. Omar Zwak spokesman of the province governor said that the VBIED targeted a police station in Bolan area.

The Taliban news agency Voice of Jihad quickly announced that the Taliban was behind the suicide attack in Bolan area. Voice of Jihad claimed that over 32 soldiers of the Afghan Army were killed and 47 others were injured in the attack.

However, Zahir Gul a Border Police official in Helmand province told the Chinese Xinhua News Agency that only one person was killed, and five others were injured in the VBIED attack.

“A terrorist riding an explosive-laden car was attempting to enter a police checkpoint but was identified by police and detonated his device outside the post, killing himself and a policeman, and injuring five more police personnel,” Gul told Xinhua.

Lately the Taliban attacks on the civilians in Afghanistan increased dramatically, while its military operations against the Afghan Army and Police became very limited.

On October 18, over 300 people killed and injured in the recent series of Taliban suicide attacks across Afghanistan.
