On Novembers 21, the Taliban ambushed a convoy of the Afghan National Police (ANP) in the district of Shah Wali Kot in the southern province of Kandahar, according to the Afghan group news agency Voice of Jihad.

In details, Taliban fighters targeted the convoy with IEDs and machine guns while it was passing through the area of Ordu Balagh on its way to the capital of the province of Urozgan, Tarinkot. As a result, 21 policemen were killed and two armored personnel carriers (APCs) were destroyed.

Following the ambush, attack helicopters of the Afghan Air Force (AAF) carried out a series of airstrikes on positions of the Taliban in Ordu Balagh. Voice of Jihad said that no one was injured or killed.

Aziz Ahmad Azizi, a spokesman for Kandahar’s governor, confirmed to the Pajhwok Afghan News that a convoy of the ANP was attacked by the Taliban in Shah Wali Kot. However, Aziz claimed that only three personnel of the police, including an officer, were killed in the attack.

The Taliban stepped up its military operations in southern Afghanistan recently, likely in an attempt to strengthen further its influence along the border with Pakistan.

The only thing the US learnt from the previous disastrous Russian invasion is now they use the locals to go out there and be killed. The Afghans in the military should walk away, conduct a mutiny and let the creators of the mess take the brunt.

PS Yes I know what happened and why the Russians invaded.
