On July 15, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a ground attack in the southern governorate of al-Quneitra and captured the village of Masharah following clashes with fighters of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), according to Syrian pro-government sources.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that the SAA artillery and rocket launchers shelled the positions of the militants in al-Quneitra with more than 800 shells and rockets in the last few hours. Despite the heavy shelling, no civilian casualties were reported.

Meanwhile in the western Daraa countryside, the SAA resumed its military operation and captured the village of Sarmin, north of the key town of al-Harrah. Pro-government sources reported that heavy clashes are currently taking place around al-Harrah.
During the last few days, several sources reported that al-Harrah will join the reconciliation process soon. However, it appears that HTS managed to sabotage a possible peaceful agreement in the town.
The SAA will likely capture al-Harrah and all the remaining positions in the western Daraa countryside within days, as the militants there are not willing to fight anymore.
