Late on December 28, activists released a video allegedly showing Syrian mercenaries fighting for the Government of National Accord (GNA) near the Libyan capital, Tripoli.
In the video, the alleged mercenaries can be heard mocking Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar in a fluent Syrian accent unique to Aleppo. The mercenaries also say that they are fighters of the al-Mu’tasim Division.
The group, which is based in northern Aleppo, is a part of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA). Earlier this year, the group took part in the Turkish-led attack on Kurdish forces in northeast Syria.
Many Syrian observers questioned the authenticity of the video. However, Twitter user il kanguru put an end to any doubts when he proved that the video was shot in the al-Naqliyah camp, which is located south of Tripoli. A day earlier, the camp witnessed heavy clashes between forces supporting the GNA and the LNA.

After verifying the first video, activists released a second one supposedly showing more Syrian mercenaries vowing to “defend Islam” near Tripoli. This video is yet to be verified.
A Turkish official told Bloomberg a day earlier that Turkey is planning to deploy its Syrian proxies in Libya to support the GNA. The SNA responded to the report by releasing a statement, denying sending any fighters to Libya. That was a lie apparently.
The deployment of Turkish-backed Syrian mercenaries in Libya led to a backlash on social media and Arab press from Syrians, opposition and government supporters, as well as from many Libyans.
Turkey’s decision to deploy its Syrian proxies will likely improve the GNA’s military odds against the LNA. However, there is no doubt that this step has harmed the public image of the GNA, Ankara and Syrian rebels.
They should stay in Libya and get slaughtered by Haftar. I also heard that the GNA has imported Ukrainian neo-Nazis as well.
Prior to Erdogan visit in the region. His terrorists were airlift and were operating already.Erdogans reasoning of deployment will take month is a total lie.
Correct XX, Turkish regular army “experts”, drone operators, and “liaison officers “were deployed into both Tripoli and Misrata months ago, and have been active with both GNA affiliated militia and parties of their own jihadi proxy SNA – now Turkey is quite openly tranferring hundreds of formed units (Faylaq ash-Sham, Sultan Mourad Brigade, ex-FSA) directly to battlefronts in Tripoli south.
Which is good for Syria and they need a break, but bad for Libya
Come on Jews, explain to us what the ” moderate” rebels in Syria defending ” democracy” are doing in Libya. Did they manage to overthrow Assad and are now spreading democracy to the rest of the world like the good ole USA, or did they get their asses handed to them?

Jews have disappointed God the father in heaven. After he chose them and thought their may live according Godly principles, peace and love without terrorism to bring his name under disrepute in the world.Who ever sides with Israelis who rejected Jesus and shed blood goes to hell.Who ever shall sides with Israelis if the does what Moses teaches them and avoid wars and daily killings are going to heaven.
Does Allah condone mercenary behaviour, especially against co-religionists? I doubt it. But it’s easy to manipulate young men with money and drugs.
Especially when you get paid 2000$/month instead of 100$/month in Syria.
Also, Turkey is funding terrorism in both Syria and Libya by colluding with ISIS and other Wahhabi terrorists and selling stolen Syrian oil to to tune of over $40 million a month. Erdogan’s family is involved in this criminal enterprise with Jews since 2013. Even according to Jew York Times, the CIA cables show that Turkey is paying these Turkman and Wahhabi terrorists about $30 million a month initially to arm and train a light brigade (2500 terrorists) initially in occupied Idlib and then air lifting them. Some of the small arms are also being supplied by its Zionist allies.
LOL, when did you write this scenario, its so funny, Turkey is the only one country fights against to ISIS, YPG, PKK those created by Israel and USA.
You call the The Turkman people as terrorists? They are the local villagers of the Syria, when they figth against to real terorrists, you call them terrorrists, they are living in that lands since 1000 of years.
Plus Turkey has no such a chance to sell oil to anybody, because they all controlled by the terrorist organisation of YPG (of under controlled USA) and other Kurt groups (of under control usa), rest of them is under Esed with Russia. Turkey has no oil well or something like that.
I dont know whose agent are you, but we dont buy your wikipedia info and misinformation.

Anchorman is saying the same things as like as you, because all the questions written by one man before and for one purpose.
Dartagnan, there is only 2 country funding terrorism, they are usa and israel, usa sends thousands of container guns, bombs, rockets to YPG, they are terrorist groups, usa funding them because they wants the syria to divide into separate parts, so they created the isis before, of course fighers are local araps but the creators, leaders and money finders CIA and you came here you say CIA cables shows their own scenario.
The support is from usa and they even dont hide this, you can see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDSzxprirqk

Turk moderate child headchoppers bringing peace, joy, happiness and prosperity throughout the world.
They won’t be mocking him when Haftar’s forces capture them and hand them upside down in front of the boss, they’ll be doing something else, Assad treats his enemies way too well and these guys have forgotten that, they’ll be reminded of it when Haftar is speaking to them, that’s if they still have ears left to hear him.
I know my fellow SF readers hate it when I ask certain questions but I just can’t help it, I just have to ask,
why is Erdogan so comfortable pulling troops away from the ongoing crisis in Idlib [moving them from Al Hasakah], where he should be using them to bolter up his losing forces in Idlib, but he’s instead moving them all the way to Libya, so who’s given Erdogan assurances he can do that without leaving himself vulnerable, that’s if anyone has.
I can understand his desire to go to Libya, he won’t be able to steal Greek and Cypriot oil and gas if he doesn’t, but leaving Idlib in the Lurch isn’t something I was expecting him to do, so I’m thinking someone must have helped make it possible to do both things, keep Idlib safe and let him go to Libya too.
But there is another possibility, perhaps I’m wrong about him not wanting to leave Idlib in the lurch, maybe he is, maybe the Libyan deal is worth so much more to him that he no longer gives a toss about Idlib, but to be honest I think that’s just my wishful thinking.
I suspect that Erdogan is sending his most loyal terrorists to Libya in order to weaken the disloyal gangs in Idlib and to gain a larger booty in Libya. This would hasten the inevitable liberation by the SAA and their allies of Idlib.
Erdogan is a pragmatic thief who realises when its time to back off before its politically too late to do so.
I’m not so sure they’re his most loyal terrorists, this story from SANA casts some dispute on that assertion,
“Hasaka, SANA – Areas where terrorist mercenaries of the Turkish occupation are positioned in Hasaka and Raqqa countryside are witnessing the flight of tens of those terrorists for fear that Erdogan’s regime will send them to fight in Libya in a similar scenario to the one followed by Erdogan when he transported thousands of terrorists to Syria.
Local source said that Turkish occupation forces increased its presence in the countryside between Ras al-Ayn and Tal Abiyad cities to fill the vacuum created by the flight of tens of its mercenary terrorists for fear of being sent to fight in Libya.
The sources said there is a state of panic among the terrorists working under the command of the Turkish occupation after receiving news of the Turkish regime’s intention to recruit a number of them to fight in the ranks of Turkish-backed groups on Libyan territory to compensate for the losses inflicted upon those groups there.”
And I’m not so sure he’s backing off either, this story from Turkish news suggests he intends staying,
“Turkey will definitely stay at its observation posts monitoring a cease-fire in northwestern Syria, and its soldiers there have orders to respond to any acts of hostility, said Turkey’s defense chief on Dec. 28.
In no way will we evacuate 12 observation points heroically carrying out their mission of ensuring the cease-fire; we are not going to leave,” Defense Minister Hulusi Akar told army commanders in Hatay, a southern Turkish province bordering Syria.”
So as much as I hope you’re right the pessimist in me is prepared for the worst, but I’ve still got my fingers crossed. Cheers.
Such a shame, they will never going to see Syria again. Empty brains Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, well this is Libya no your precious Afrin, or North-Easter Idlib. Here you will be squashed, cuz here its not just the kurds or the SAA, here my sweet ones is a game of very good and big mercenaries who will blow your heads from 1km away. Cheers! Bearly wait to see your open splattered brains.
The video is authentic – palms are not everywhere in Tripoli southern districts and it is cold and does rain in winter (now) = Wadi Mjeneen flows to the sea
Yes, they speak with a Syrian, possibly Aleppine accent, but that doesn’t prove anything. In a recent interview with Al-Mayadeen, Lybian activist Samira Farajani dismissed reports of “Syrian mercenaries” in Lybia as “rumours” and affirmed that so far, there are no Syrian or Turkish fighters/soldiers in Lybia. It is easy to see, who would profit from spreading such rumours.
