The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) backed up by Russian warplanes and other pro-government factions have liberated the village of Soha inside the ISIS-held pocket east of Salamiyah city.
The SAA and the NDF are advancing along one of the few important roads in the area. If they area able to capture Akash and Hardaneh, they will set a foothold for further operation clear the entire northern part of the pocket.
Earlier this week, government forces liberated Rasm Naqa, Rasm Arnab, Jafiah, Rasm Rik, Ghuzaylah, Haba, Um Sous and Um Huwaysh villages inside the pocket.
