Syrian Democratic Forces Seized 10,000 ISIS Intelligence Docs

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have seized over 4 terabytes of ISIS intelligence data (about 10,000 documents) after capturing an evacuated ISIS command center southwest of the  Manbij city hall. The data have been already provided to the US-led coalition staff.

Operation Inherent Resolve spokesman Army Col. Chris Garver said at a press briefing on Wednesday that the captured items include “thumb drives, text books, notebooks, all sorts of materials.”

Garver added that this information could provide insight to ISIS attacks outside Iraq and Syria.

“Anything that can connect us to external operations from Syria is a benefit to everybody. It benefits the whole global coalition that is working to counter ISIL [ISIS] operations around the world,” the coalition official said.

The collected date allowed to learn that ISIS had set 3 centers to receive foreign fighters in Manbij strategically located near the border with Turkey, from where many people are flowing to join the terrorist group in Syria.
