On November 22, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies launched their military operation towards Abu al-Duhur airbase east of Abu al-Duhur town in the southwestern Aleppo countryside according to pro-government sources. However, these claims were not confirmed by any official source.
From its side, the HTS-linked news agency Iba’a reported that HTS fighters repelled a massive attack of the SAA on several positions of HTS around Rajm Sawan, Hajara and al-Rashadiyah villages in the southwestern Aleppo countryside. According to Iba’a HTS fighters killed a group of SAA soldiers while repelling the attack.
Meanwhile, Syrian opposition sources reported that HTS main ally, the Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) is now supporting HTS against the SAA in the northern, and northeastern Hama countryside. The TIP news agency Islam Awazi released on November 22, photos of TIP fighters shelling positions of the SAA in Sarha village in the northeastern Hama countryside, effectively confirming the opposition claims.
HTS and TIP will likely lose the upcoming battle in Abu al-Duhur airbase, because of the military superiority of the SAA and its allies.
