Syrian Army Recaptures From ISIS Areas South Of Tiyas Airport

The Syrian Army launched a new offensive on positions of the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group in the southeastern part of Homs province.

Syrian troops, backed up by the Russian Aerospace Forces, launched attacks on ISIS positions near the village of al-Baridah, the Jihar gas field, and the village of Qasr al-Hayr.

As Al-Masdar reported, citing an unnamed military source in Homs, Syrian troops managed to kill at least 25 ISIS terrorists, as well as to destroy one their armored vehicle and seven technical vehicles during the battle, which took place to the south of the Tiyas airport.

It is about time the Syrian government forces launched their campaign to retake Palmyra… That loss a month ago was a black eye on the good guys in their fight against evil…

Now that Deir Ezzor is in trouble, they are opening new fronts against ISIS to prevent them from sending reinforcements there.

Regardless , ISIS knows that Deir Azzor is the prize , and are sending reinforcements there . All those high grade oil wells just to the south .
