Syrian Army Recaptures al-Shihab Hill In Beit Jinn Pocket (Map)

Units of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) have recaptured al-Shihab Hill from members of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) in the Beit Jinn pocket in southern Syria.

This advance is a part of a wider effort of the SAA and the NDF to isolate the militant stronghold of Beit Jinn in the area. Right now, government forces are working to take control over the hills and other points west of Beit Saber.

Yes. The purge of the American-Saudi cancer is ongoing.

With the advance of Syria in clearing that area we can expect that Israel increases it’s aggression. They gotta protect their assets after all.

Syrian air defence confirmed it’s capable of hitting aerial targets. If they can hit MRBMs, they can hit planes as well. That’s why cowards attack from Lebanon airspace, with their “routine” flights.

A few days ago Israel officially protested and justified it’s shelling of Syrian positions because Syrian forces made some trenches near Golan (20km?) and fortified their position in their fight against terrorists. Now Israel attacks Syria from very same Golan, not even near it. The same people who condemned Syria for a trench in their own soil, now are dead quiet about Israel’s artillery in occupied Golan and it’s attack from there.

Excuse me; stolen assets.

I’m talking about the terror groups Al, they were created not stolen.

Sorry, my mistake.

They may find that Lebanon gains access to air defences and they come unstuck there. . .

Once SAA has the ridge crests above the river valley it’s going to be Dien Bien Phu all over again. Yeah baby!

Thegr8rambino

what was that? heard of it but not sure waht exactly happened

The French occupation army in Vietnam in 1954 was ensconced in a valley known as Dien Bien Phu in western, rural, jungle mountainous terrain. They felt unassailable as it was thought to be impossible to move field guns into such rough country. They also thought the Air Force could resupply their remote outpost. (Which Adolf also believed to be the case at Stalingrad).

The Viet Minh (forebears of the Viet Cong and NVA) dragged cannons through the jungle by brute force and set them up on the heights surrounding the valley. The French were living in trenches and holes directly under the Vietnamese guns. Like Cornwallis at Yorktown, the position was indefensible. Surrender was the only option.

I’m a fallible and amateur historian so please google facts yourself as this is only my personal interpretation.
