On February 3, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) recaptured the villages of Tulayhat, Abu Kusur and Ma’saran from ISIS in the northeastern Hama countryside, according to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria. Four days ago, the SAA and its allies recaptured Al-Aww, Abyan and Jubb Zrayq villages south of the village of Ma’saran.
Syrian pro-government sources reported on February 2 that the SAA and its allies will boost their operations against the besieged ISIS fighters in the northeastern Hama countryside. These anti-ISIS operations are aimed at securing the SAA rear during its advance in southern Idlib, according to the sources.
Experts believe that there are few hundreds of ISIS fighters in the northeastern Hama pocket. While these fighters are poorly armed, they are considered highly experienced as many of them participated in ISIS attacks in Deir Ezzor, Homs and Hama between 2014 and 2017.
ISIS fighters in the northeastern Hama countryside didn’t conduct any offensive or defensive operations against the SAA in the last few days. This could mean that the terrorist group is trying to avoid any serious clashes with the SAA, until it is able to reorganize its units there.
probably gone off to fight the turks……
false isis is encercled
Great news!
These forces involved are a mix of Military Itelligence shield forces, NDF,Tiger and Qalomoun Shield Forces, making these mixed units give them an advantage in assaulting the area as they can soon secure the area from counterattacks.
ISIS isn’t in the same position they were in 2014-2017 like many of them they have manpower issues and seem to recruit children but mostly kidnap them.
Military Intelligence shield forces you consider NDF do be that. Do you even know what are ndf when are founded and what is their job lol
The MISF are its own brigade , mostly NDF have already served in the SAA , they have been sent down in hopes they will not be needed on a regular basis. I know what they are but you seem not to be too swift many armies have soldiers that served in the regular forces in their reserves and militias, to think they are less trained is an insult to them. Why I find your comment more offensive for someone who sits at arms length.
The Talk is about to reactivate them to active duty , as you see this also happens with national guardsman in the US , that is how you keep them still within the main body and ready at moments notice.
The NDF are as you say ex-military and volunteers.
You are spot on.
Yes, just as the reserve part time soldiers in the UK are often ex regulars.
VIVA SAA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
