On February 5, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) liberated  the villages of Buyud Saffaf, Abu al Kheir, Wadi Jahannam and Dhabiiyah from ISIS in the northeastern Hama countryside, according to pro-government sources. The advance followed February 4 reports that the Tiger Forces had deployed reinforcements to the area in order to support the SAA’s anti-ISIS operation there.

Earlier, the SAA and its allie already liberated the villages of al-Judaydah, Samiriyah, Umm Hurizah, Tulayhat, Abu Kusur and Ma’saran from ISIS in the area.

The maps are different. Is there only Daesh there or also HTS?

Bobo Voxar

same shit dont care…

Ivanus59

Only ISIS, but yeah as Bobo said it wouldn’t be much of a difference anyway.

Al Qaeda (HTS) commanders in the northeast part of the cauldron were either killed or fled a week or two ago They use to battle their ISIS neighbors on and off, but without much enthusiasm. ISIS foreign head-choppers are more fanatical fighters than the average captagon-fueled HTS criminal/derelict. The infighting was mostly gang wars over local arms and supplies stashes, not ideology.

Without their commanders, the al Qaeda (HTS) left-overs in the northwest of the cauldron are in disarray. Some continue to hold the lines against the SAA but as disorganized groups, while others have defected to ISIS. Some continue to flee – if that’s even possible today. ISIS has also been decimated and must be running low on supplies/ammo. They would have moved into the northeast and claimed it, but they can barely hold their little piece today. So the non-ISIS part of the cauldron is a disputed territory and no-man’s land – kind of HTS and kind of ISIS. And soon to be a mass grave for the head-choppers still stuck there.

Daesh is their collective name HTS/FSA/ISIS/Al Qaeda etc. they are all Daesh.

Actually, you can call them what ever you want, but the reality is they are all US-Israel bought and paid for mercenaries and operatives…

It is good to see the people of syria taking back their land. It is cruel that they must make such a sacrifice but the peace that they gain will be so much sweeter.

Carol Davidek-Waller

Or…..The US was kicked out by the Iraqis who have complained the Americans slowed down progress and repeatedly asked them to leave. No nation willingly submits to invasion and occupation.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

They sent equipment to Syria expect troops being moved there also, US never gives up even when they know their losing.

I don’t think the Americans “know they are losing” and neither do we. They control 1/3 of Syria’s territory and 1/2 of its oil reserves, so far without paying any serious price. As we speak, new al-Qaeda enclaves are going up in Idlib and Afrin under Turkish (i.e., still NATO) protection. Israel is still a player and they aren’t exactly suing for peace. Most crucially, the Empire is doing well in the battle of ideas: Russia is playing by the old rules that Russian allies are valid prey while American ones are not–what I call the Doctrine of the Chosen People. And they can’t rewrite those rules as long as China isn’t fighting with them shoulder to shoulder.

Sure the loyalists have made impressive progress in the past two years, so the Dark Throne won’t get everything, I think they can live with that.

The US and NATO are playing the old schtick and are becoming repetitive and have soon worn out their welcome with the public, not so much the Russians since they allow the US to disprove themselves. We see the slow withdrawal from Iraq as they know they are no longer wanted there, and others only going to a medical support role in the region. Seems like things are not as pretty as they are painted as the US is prepping to build up another foreign group in the region, using old ISIS leaders as it’s base.

There are more subtle wars going on in the US/SDF area and they are taking it’s toll on the troops stationed there by the US. We will see them transferring troops there and sending some to Afghanistan to keep them from becoming too discontent.

Syrians Patriotic Loyalists are making huge gains and support for these Islamists is waning as they can’t find manpower so they steal children. The US is losing support for this war and are using false claims of CW even Turkey has used that false claim today. One can always tell when one side is losing as they make false and erroneous claims of CW easily debunked.

This only causes them to lose respect and fear in the international community, and that is something they are afraid of the most.

Ma_Laoshi

Well yeah, in the Middle East, where people have hands-on experience with the ways of the Axis of Kindness, things remind one of King Elrond: “Our list of allies grows thin!” What I wrote is probably influenced by having been in Europe recently. News about the US’s extremely disturbing new nuclear doctrine (of which they’d clearly become the prime recipient) etc in fact does seep through, but there’s just no impact. The thought of the Empire losing its global primacy truly scares them more than the thought of being asked to burn for it.
So I don’t see Russia making much headway with Europeans, even as Russia supplies the gas that keeps them warm in winter. It’s all happened before with Indians serving the British Crown, or Taiwanese serving Japan: once your mind is defeated, what else is left.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The thing is Europe really doesn’t give too much shit about what the US says anymore, and would rather buy cheaper gas. They are looking at surviving from the US blind and thoughtless policies even those considered right wing don’t agree with current US policies.

Problem with Europeans they are not like US citizens with their politics and are more reserved , sure they will protest there, but just not spread out like North America. People there have a tendency to seem burst all at once and in a unified voice. So their minds are not defeated as you view this from your viewpoint and expect people to act like the US. Trust me on this one all countries and regions have a different style of protest no countries are alike.

Ma_Laoshi

Reality has many facets; I guess different things stand out for me. Britain and France are still trying to make themselves useful in the Security Council to somehow legitimize the shiny new US colony in East Syria. The sanctions war is still ongoing; that is tens of billions in economic activity which Europe cannot afford to lose.

But what stood out most for me happened a year ago, when Trump still must’ve thought that he was the boss. He told Europeans to look after themselves for a while and let’s all stop wasting money on NATO, since Uncle Sam had some overdue maintenance back home. Europeans didn’t want it. Weeping they threw themselves at Trump’s feet, begging “Please majesty, help us to prepare for the war with Putin!” That’s what we want apparently; the thought that Our Lord would abandon us… it’s better to be dead instead. I’m worried that Europeans may get what they asked for.

Time for ISIS to pop up in Eastern Idlib. Concur and divide, the pocket is shrinking very quickly which is great.
