The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has expanded its operations against ISIS terrorists in the eastern countryside of Palmyra city.

Since June 3, it has liberated more than 1400 square kilometers east of Palmyra city. The operation involves large forces of the SAA and its allies armed with dozens of armored vehicles and battle tanks, including modern T-90A battle tanks. The operation is supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Syrian Air Force.

In turn, ISIS claimed that 21 Syrian soldiers were killed by a VBIED attack on a gathering of Syrian forces in the Abbasiya area east of Palmyra. 14 Syrian soldiers were reportedly killed in a suicide attack on in Al-Gharb hills.

Moreover, ISIS destroyed a battle tank of the SAA in Al-Mahaor direction with an ATGM, and targeted a gathering of Syrian soldiers there with an ATGM, killing five soldiers.

According to pro-government sources, the SAA is rapidly advancing towards Arak settlements and is now in only 6 kilometers from them. The SAA and its allies are aiming to take full control over the Arak area.

However, the SAA was unable to continue its advance due to ISIS strong fortifications in the area. It is considered to be the first line of defense for the strategic ISIS-held town of Sukhna located en route to Deir Ezzor.

Amazing how well Isis is doing in Hiluxes and ATGMs, a lesson here for standing armies everywhere with light, high endurance and highly mobile units, sad to see losses still beingt inflicted on SAA in the open desert where airpower has free reign.

Hope Arak is taken soon and they continue rolling them back to Sukhna in short order while they are on the hop.

It’s Special Forces style of operating. So it is easy to guess that they have been trained by SF soldiers.

SAA and its allies need to take T3 airport for using helicopters (short range attacks on ISIS). T3 is wonderful to be prepared for helicopters (about 40).

PZIVJ

Excellent videos SF.
After adequate bombardment of Daesh trash, time for the advance to begin again.
Arak and T3 are waiting to be taken.
Godspeed SAA !

Stephen

ISIS terrorists fortifications and trenches can be easily eliminated by air strikes jut SAA soldier tell to pilot that what area they should strike. I mean just give exact horizontal and vertical coordinates to the pilot.

Daniel

Amazing to see the continuous advanced weapon use of ISIS who supposedly is a rogue “state” . I guess it says enough.

PZIVJ

ISUS always has a video cam for their few remaining nice toys.
It makes for nice propaganda.

Barba_Papa

I agree. By constantly filming their shiniest toys they can create the impression of how well they are armed. This can be powerful propaganda. The Nazis did the same by constantly filming their shiniest toys, thus concealing to this very day even that the Wehrmacht was not a state of the art armed mechanized force but mostly on foot, with horse drawn vehicles and barely any of the shiny Tiger tanks that made the news reels and we still get to see in every WWII documentary.

Oh FFS

Cant belive the idiots made them leave to begin with?

Dealing with the Iranians is like shadowboxing in water. Like making two steps forward, then three steps back again, and then the reverse again.

I suspect the Iranians don’t want to be become as fully dependent on Russia as they were on the US in the days off the Shah.

From the same article:
“The military source informed Al-Masdar that ISIL is losing a significant number of fighters to achieve this advance in Deir Ezzor, so this could be prove costly in the future for the terrorist group.”

I think that the end in eastern Syria could come in a bit of a rush, unless the Washington barbarians manage to sabotage it by moving enough of their head-chopping, heart-eating rapers from Raqqah. It looks to me that the methodical Syrian counter-offensive is reaching the point where an advance in one place exposes the US head-chopping, heart-eating rapers to defeat elsewhere. Stand by for Syrian jabs here and there and then a coup de main on Deir Ezzor.

Solomon Krupacek

you are paid troll. i remember, you were happy, when fsa took an tabf, also when americans came. now you relativize the danger again. you are enemy of syria.

Barba_Papa

It’s bewildering why they are so tenacious in attacking Deir Ezzor, as the troops there are not going anywhere. Whereas ISIS is under constant attack on all other fronts.

Valery Grigoryev

DEZ needs an urgent support. May be ground forces helicopter landing. Things look dangerous…

Solomon Krupacek

yes, airborne help is really needed

Mountains

the propaganda of this website has reached to shameless levels. How about giving us some serious reports because according to you SAA has captured the whole of Syria atleast 10 times. Give us a break and come with real content or otherwise you will just keep losing readers.. This is embarrasing

Solomon Krupacek

calm down. 1400 km2 is 40km x 35 km area. so, insignificant.

Wolfgang Wolf

and SF is still promoting unconfirmed IS propaganda! who pays you for this?

Attrition47

SF makes an effort to report events like a news service should and that means a proper scepticism. Including claims by all sides as claims rather than facts makes SF more professional and trustworthy than the corp-0-rat media.
