Syrian Army Launches Offensive To Recapture Abu Dali Village In Hama Countryside

On October 29, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) launched an offensive to recapture the strategic Abu Dali village in the northern Hama countryside, according to Syrian pro-government sources. Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) had captured Abu Dali in a rapid attack back on October 8.

According to pro-government sources, the SAA recaptured Farkeh village, Zahra hill and Rajm Alahmar area south of Abu Dali village.

Russian warplanes supported the SAA attack and destroyed several positions of HTS in Abu Dali and in al-Lataminah town west of it, according to Syrian opposition sources.

Meanwhile, the SAA advanced in the northeastern Hama countryside and captured Msheirfeh and Rasm al-Tinah villages, according to pro-government sources. Earlier on October 29, the HTS-linked news agency Iba’a reported that HTS captured Msheirfeh village from ISIS.

From its side, Iba’a announced that HTS fighters destroyed a tank of the SAA with a Kornet ATGM near Jib Abyad village.

The new SAA attack in the northern Hama countryside will contribute to increasing the pressure on HTS in Idlib governorate. If the SAA maintaines its advance, HTS might retreat further from the northeastern Hama countryside and in the southwestern Aleppo countryside next to it.
