Syrian Army Launches New Attack On Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham East Of Damascus (Videos)

On February 1, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a new limited attack on positions of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in the Irbin district east of the Syrian capital, Damascus, according to Syrian pro-government sources. The SAA targeted several positions of HTS with the UR-77 mine-clearing system and Syrian-made Golan heavy rockets.

Syrian warplanes also supported the SAA attack and targeted several positions of HTS and US-backed Faylaq al-Rahman in Irbin, according to pro-government sources.

From its side, the HTS-linked news agency Iba’a announced that HTS and Faylaq al-Rahman fighters had repelled the SAA attack on their positions in the Irbin district. The source added that HTS fighters were able to kill ten Syrian soldiers while repelling the attack.

Moreover, Iba’a claimed that a T-72 tank, a Shilka vehicle and a bulldozer of the SAA were damaged by HTS and Faylaq al-Rahman during the clashes in Irbin. A mini drone of the SAA was also shot down over Irbin, according to the source.

The new attack of the SAA confirms that the new ceasefire agreement that was reached during the Vienna talks on January 26 already failed. Right after its announcement, Ahrar al-Sham Movement, Faylaq al-Rahman, Jaysh al-Islam and HTS rejected the agreement and stressed that they will continue their attacks against the SAA in the Eastern Ghouta region.

Keep steady pressure on the terrorists. Daeshastan and Idlibstan fronts were once seemingly immovable. They ultimately collapsed. East Ghoutastan will be next! :D

You can call me Al

It looks like the US written media propaganda for the vermin is full gear due to their desperation and panic mode.

I don’t know what you did, but with the Afghan and Iraq wars, I just gathered my information from MSM updates, but because I had been to Syria and loved both the Country and the people, I have taken a vested interest in this illegal war on a daily basis.

It amazes, shocks and disgusts me that I lived so many years living with MSM government BS (sorry, I needed a rant).

Well said. Life is a learning adventure. I’m pleased to walk a bit of the path with you.

I used to be quite rabidly pro-Israel and anti-Arab. Until I visited Egypt and spent 3 months there. It changed my complete outlook on Arabs and the conflict. When there I also met some Syrians. What incredibly nice people.

I still don’t believe that the media is trying to paint them in a bad light, but in general news consists mostly of bad news. And when you see only bad news without some nuance it colors your thinking. I’m glad for the times I spent in both Egypt and later in Iran. It gave me a point of view most people in the West don’t seem to have.

Mark Twain said that tourism is the enemy of bigotry. You meet people, you see them as they are, not as the MSM depicts them.

Nice to see aggressive multi front action.
