The Russian-sponsored reconciliation process is spreading in the eastern countryside of Syria’s Daraa province. On October 18th, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has launched a combing operation in another village in the region.

In early hours, the SAA units started combing the village of al-Karak and its outskirts within the settlement agreement reached between the Syrian government and local rebels.

“The army units on Monday morning started the combing and search operations in al-Karak village and its environs in a step paving the way for the return of the service institutions to practice their work and to provide services for the citizens,” SANA reporter said.

From the very morning, SAA units began to survey the area in the village and its surroundings in order to prepare conditions for the resumption of work of state institutions. Such a combing operation is aimed at uncovering of any war debris in order to restore normal life in the village.

So far, thousands of wanted gunmen have handed over their weapons and settled their legal status within the ongoing reconsecration process. Many of them will join the SAA ranks.

Started in Daraa al-Balad, the process later reached the western part of Daraa governorate. Currently, more towns in the eastern Daraa countryside are joining the reconciliation process.

Most recently, on October 17, the towns of al-Ghariyah al-Sharqiyah, al-Ghariyah al-Gharbiyah and Khirbet Ghazaleh joined the Russian-sponsored reconciliation process.

At the same time, the SAA launched a combing operation in the town of al-Jeezah.

This is a strategic development in the region as the eastern Daraa countryside shares the border with Jordan.

Excellent strategy. Turn your enemy into an ally, or a bullet does the job. Continued victory for the SAA & allies.
