The Syrian army and the National Defense Forces (NDF), supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces, have been advancing against ISIS in the city of Deir Ezzor aiming to lift the siege from the Deir Ezzor Airport.
As result of a series of firefights, army and NDF troops seized an important hilltop near the cemetery and seized a notable part of the cemetery itself.
Despite the ISIS resistance, government forces are now close to linking the Deir Ezzor Airprot with the rest of the government-held pocket. Government troops control important hilltops in the area and have a support from Russian warplanes. This allows to counter the ISIS advantage in the manpower.
Good luck.
Dont just take your territory back , also kill as many rats as possible. And most importantly dont stop then…………
According to the map, it remains a siege. The besieged area has just been expanded a little
Can you read.It says it is close to breaking the siege.Sometimes the people here amaze me
The headline is incorrect in that sense. The more accurate headline would be besieged Diez Ezzor’s recent threat of falling reduced. The town and attached military airport have been besieged for six years – and it is the geography that aids the holdout SAA garrison.
The open plateau in front of airport base means ISIS are open targets when attempt frontal attacks and until USAF attacked SAA positions on them, the hills in front of the town created fire control over any ISIS incoming attacks. So it is critical SAA regains control of those hills, if can close the ISIS salient that threatens to cut the defenders into two pockets.
I know you don’t like this piece of news, since you have shown yourself to be a gloating jew-lover. But Deir Ezzor will hold. Your boys ISIS, will be destroyed.
And to all you ill-wishers and nay-sayers, what did I tell you? Deir Ezzor is in no real danger. Long Live the SAA and allies. I hope someday you will besiege Tel Aviv.
Salute to the brave , SAA . May Godspeed .
I hope Russia does not come again with another ceasefire agreement. My greeting to all of them which are fighting against terrorists, goof luck.
ISIS has never been a party to any of the cease-fire agreements, so there will never be anything like that in Deir EzZor. There will never be any green buses for ISIS – they will go out of Deir EzZor in a box.
Sources claim many ruaf strikes to support the stronghold. Not only tu22 but a kind of cas seems realistic, If the last is true then russian spotters could be in DEzz.
If Syria stands then Russia Will too.
