Syrian Army Intensifies Operations in Dara'a and Sweida

The Syrian army and the NDF have connducted military operations against Jabhat Fatah al-Sham (fomerly Jabhat al-Nusra or al-Nusra Front) terrorists in the Dara’a Al-Balad District of Dara’a and at Tafas in northwestern Dara’a. There are no confirmed reports about the casualties of sides.

The Syrian government forces also destroyed a oil truck belonging to the ISIS terrorist group in the Mashbak al-Wachyan region in the eastern part of Sweida. Pro-government sources say that the truck’s guards (some 7 terrorists) were also killed.

On October 17, hundreds of fighters of the Syrian army and the NDF were deployed to Dara’a in order to reinforce the Syrian government forces’ operations in southern Syria. Some experts believe that this could be a pretext of full-scale advance in the area.
