On Friday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies captured all the heights surrounding Humaymah village in the eastern Homs countryside near the Syrian-Iraqi border, according to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria. Humaymah village is now under the SAA fire control.
Pro-government sources predicted that ISIS will withdrew from the village soon.
On August 17, the SAA repelled an attack of ISIS on its position in the northwestern side of Humaymah village. The Hezbollah media wing in Syria claimed that SAA destroyed a VBIED, 4 armored vehicles and a tank of ISIS during the clashes.
If the SAA captures Humaymah it will be able to launch more effective attacks on the strategic T-2 stations west of al-Bukamal city in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside.
Meanwhile, the SAA and its allies also captured al-Taliah al-Garbiah and al-Taliah al-Sahrqiah villages east of al-Shumariah mount in the eastern Homs countryside.
In the eastern Hama countryside, the SAA and its allies captured the Abu Fakhar hill south of Hiso al-A’albawi village. The Abu Fakhar hill over looks Khirbat Um-Hartain and Dkelah villages.
