Syrian troops have once again foiled an attack of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group on their positions near the Air Force Academy in the eastern part of Aleppo province.

Terrorists of the Islamic State (IS) group once again failed to break through positions of the Syrian Army near the Air Force Academy, located in the eastern part of Aleppo province, and retreated from the battlefield after several hours of clashes.

IS terrorists, stationed in Rasm al-Kama village in Deir Hafer region, attacked positions held by Syrian troops, deployed in Ansarullah village, located near the Aleppo’s Air Force Academy. However, the Syrian Army managed to repel the attack after several hours of fierce clashes with terrorists. As a result, a number of militants were killed, and three of their military vehicles were destroyed.

Syrian soldiers also launched an attack on gatherings of IS terrorists south of Aran near the Air Force Academy, killing several terrorists and destroying two their cannons.

On Monday, Syrian troops also clashed with IS terrorists during an attempt of the latter to hit several positions of the Syrian Army in Showaylikh village in order to open a way to the Air Force Academy. As a result, dozens of militants were killed and wounded, while their military vehicles were destroyed. The terrorists, who suffered heavy losses in the battle, retreated from the southern side of the Kuweires airbase.

At the same time, the Syrian Air Force struck IS positions near Showaylikh and on the road to Deir Hafer.
