Syrian Army Eliminates Leader of Jaish al-Mujahideen's ATGM Team in Aleppo

On November 6, the Jaish al-Mujahideen militant group announced the death of Col. Ahmad al-Sa’eed who was the leader of the group’s anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) team in Aleppo city. Al-Sa’eed was killed in clashes with the Syrian army in the southern countryside of the city.

Last weekend, Jaish al-Mujahideen increased ATGM strikes on the government forces’ posotions at the Uhud Hill in southern Aleppo. The death of al-Sa’eed will likely led to decrease of these operations in the area.

Good news. Jaish al-Mujahideen is one of the most combat-effective groups on the jihadist side. If the SAA is achieving successes against them, it’s a good sign for the state of the SAA’s fighting ability. Then again, even if Hezbollah or the Russians were responsible, whittling this group down is significant.
