On April 19, Syrian government forces launched a military operation against ISIS in the Yarmouk refugee camp area in southern Damascus because neogtiations on a possible withdrawal of militnats to the eastern Homs desert had failed.
Since April 19 evening, warplanes and artillery have been pounding the terrorists’ positions in the area. At the same time, pro-government fighters are preparing to storm the ISIS positions in the southern and northern parts of the pocket.
According to pro-government sources, the Syrian military has deployed units of the following forces for this operation:
- the 4th Armoured Division
- the 7th Armoured Division
- the Syrian Republican Guard
- the ISIS Hunters of the 5th Assault Corps [allegedly linked to Russian private military contractors operating in Syria]
- the National Defense Forces
- Palestinian Liberation Army [a Palestinian pro-government militia]
- Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command [a Palestinian pro-government militia]
- Liwa al-Quds [a Palestinian pro-government militia]
- Fatah al-Intifada [a Palestinian pro-government militia]
- Galilee Forces [a Palestinian pro-government militia]
- Aqsa Shield Forces (FPM)
The high number of Palestinian militias is involved in the operationis because the Yarmouk refugee camp area is mostly populated by Palestinians.
What are the normal full combat strengths of those armored divisions, 5 000 or less? Do they have armored infantry battalions inside divisions?

By now these are mostly divisions in name only. Every unit is basically a unit in name only, bearing more resemblance to a feudal army where barons pledge to show up with some knights to fight for their king. In this case that general X from division Y sends some troops for an ad hoc attack force. Probably only the 4th armored division and the republican guard still bear some resemblance to actual fighting units.
Might as well clear the Qaida Orcs from Yarmouk at the same time.
Green Orcs will join that attack and then reconcile.
Green Orcs are so stupid. They never learn. When the Daesh pocket at Uqayribat was surrounded and being erased, the HTS Orcs in Idlib started blathering about how they would save their “Daesh Brothers”. Then when the Daesh made it to Idlibstan they attacked the stupid Green Orcs! Too Funny!

What are you on about? There are no Kurds, or Kurdish YPG militia, in southern Damascus. Syria’s Kurdish population live in the far northernmost provinces that border along Turkey.

Personally I find it the biggest tragedy for these Palestinian militias that they’re fighting for what is in essence not even their own country. They’re fighting and dying for and inside Syria and will probably never see their true homeland, Palestine, ever again.
Of course they will
They are fighting for tut surian government which is an enemy of Israel. And in the future there will be a lot of iranian power against Israel from Syria.
Which I still doubt is going to help these poor Palestinian sods to get them ever back to Palestine. The Iranian military lacks the modern gear, land, sea or air, that it needs to wage a war against a 1st world country with an insanely large well equipped army. Which is probably why Iran has invested so heavily in missiles. If you can make your enemy pay a heavy price for attacking you, then maybe you can compensate that way for having an army with outdated gear. But even Macross levels of rocket spam will not make Israel disappear, for that you need an army that can take ground and hold. And even if you could, against Iran’s rocket spam stands Israeli nuclear armed ICBM’s. When the other side has nukes, any war against them is pointless. Which was the whole point of the North Korean nuclear program to begin with.

This is good for Palestinians to learn to use Russian latest military technology and equipments because on their shoulders there is the responsibility of liberation of Palestine from US and UK morons.
