Syria Encounter: Contrary Reports Appear About US F-22 "Intercept" Of Two Russian Su-25

On December 14, US military officials revealed that an encounter took place between Russian and US warplanes in the skies over Syria after two Russian Su-25 violated what the US calls a “deconfliction line” in the country.

According to them, the incident occurred on Wednesday “when the Russian jets strayed into airspace east of the Euphrates River, putting them on the wrong side of a “deconfliction zone” established between Moscow and Washington to avoid confrontation in the skies over Syria.”

Two F-22 fighter aircraft came close to the Russian jets and one of the F-22 fired flares to warn Russian planes away from the area. The Russian jets immediately left the area after the intercept, according to the story.

“Two F-22s went too close to two Russian jets so we had to use the de-confliction channels,” a US Central Command (CENTCOM) told Sputnik on Thursday. “This is not something extraordinary… It happens sometimes several times a day.”

However, the Russian Defense Ministry dismissed reports that the Russian jets were “intercepted.” It said that the F-22 got close to a pair of Su-25s and hampered them from escorting a humanitarian aid convoy.

According to the Russian ministry, the incident took place near the city of Mayadin. Following it, a Russian Su-35 fighter jet “rapidly approached” the F-22 from the rear and the US jet left the area.

Mayadin is located on the western bank of the Euphrates.

Russia and Syria should tell to zionUS scum to fuck of Syrian land and air space

MasterBlaster7

Thats kinda difficult when zionUS forces can curb stomp anything in the Syrian air space if they wanted to.

as

What’s stopping them from doing so ? They can bomb the Assad palace to smithereens yet they don’t so again what’s stopping them ? They can of course bomb the Latakia airbase to nothing and again what stopping them ? They can bomb Iran with nuke very much of their dearest wet dream to date though again really what’s stopping them ?

Charlie rad

Bull. Not a video game junior. Love the F-22. Our best. Far better than our F-35 garbage. But the Russian Su-35 is a Killer as well. Stealth is highly over-rated. Only works against 3rd world militaries. This mutual respect is good. The real enemy is ,,,

Tudor Miron

I agree on F-35 and agree regarding F22 and Su-35. Su-35 is a pinnacle of 4th generation legacy fighters. F-15 could not evolve into what Su-27 did ;) Aerodynamically Su-35 is superior to F-22, its performance and maneuverability at high aoa is a thing of beauty, true art. On it’s own turf (sky above Russia or a2d2 bubble – with support of land based and airborne radars) Su-35 may do well against Su-22.
F-22 is a superb plane and I love it. Some limitations thought – way too expensive even for US and very expensive to operate. Like a sprint racer requires many maintenance hours vs flight hours. F-35 is a money laundering case :) and a pig in the sky. F-16 was much better for its own time. In one on one combat I would still think that F-16 would give F-35 a run for his money. One should also suspect that in real combat scenario some of those nice gadgets may stop working properly, especially if deep in war waters with something more than 3d world country.
One of main surprises (assuming from press) for NATO experts was amount of sorties that limited in numbers RuAF showed in Syria. Su-57 is build on the same ideology and from aero point of view is a continuation of Su-27/35 aero way of thinking. It was performing extemely well with old (Su-35 basically) engines. I wonder what it would do with 2nd gen (planned from the start) engines.
Aside from them being war machines fighter jets are like good race cars – beautiful.

Philippe Nassar

Well an apostel of democracy as applied by a war cannibal criminal..good job. One more to account for

Ishyrion Av

Probably SU-35 fired a flare too…

rdamir82

Flare-Wars ?

Mahmoud Larfi

It looks like the start of a series of incidents that will culminate in a shooting scenario that will have Russia imposing a true no-fly zone on behalf of the legitimate government of Syria.

ruca

Let’s hope

Mahmoud Larfi

From a legal point of view it’s perfectly doable, any sovereign state has the right to deny its airspace to whoever it wants and have the duty to defend its territorial integrity without being accountable to any foreign third party. And Syria can formally ask Russia to enforce its airspace security. Now from a technical point of view, Russia have the required means to do that : fighters, interceptors, SAM batteries, jammers, AWACS and the facilities to establish a country wide A2/AD in Syria.
Now the question is would they do it ? And if they do, it would be to what extent ? Would they enforce the NFZ to the limit ? To the point of shooting unauthorized trespassers like Israeli and NATO warplanes ?

ruca

You are correct Mahmoud. This is the typical US of Arrogance double dog dare strategy. Or let’s say the school yard bully. “Give me your lunch money. If you fight back I’ll kill you”

Making america great again my ass.

Charlie rad

WRONG. If you recall the 90s when Putin & Russian Patriots were taking Russia back , it didn’t happen overnight. Lots of mixed signals. Until the entrenched globalist traitors were finally weeded out. In USA it’s worse , they have had decades to get dug in. DEEPSTATE-GLOBALISTS are getting removed little by little. They even used to say about Russia ” It’s like 1 gov/military during the day, & a completely different 1 at night. These GLOBALIST(NWO-TRILATERALS-ILLUMINATI-ETC) don’t want to give an inch back.

Tudor Miron

Charlie, let me tell you that globalist traitors that are fine to sell their home country and people in exchange to being able to loot it as they did in Eltsins times are still largely present in governing “elites” – things don’t happen that fast and if you take all “poisoned” minds out of managing positions than country will simply collapse. It takes more time and I can see it unfolding (there’s still a long way to go). Funny thing is they (Russian “5th column”) are by far US “employed” while US country level elites are “employed” by global elites. Now when global elites are moving their power center away from US (China is its next destination) local country level US elites are fighting hard (against Trump they think) to prove to gp that they are still needed but they are doomed anyway. A slave can’t overrun his master.

Joe

The problem is the legal owner, Assad , is so quiet like a mouse and very poor PR man.

Silence is consent and makes the Americans even bolder until one day that air space is theirs

wwinsti

Seeing as the Iranians and the Russians are on the front lines as it were, they do get some say as to whether or not such a major escalation should, should not, or when it will occur.

Charlie rad

good comment. They won’t, for now. Us military still has 2 masters. but not for long.

Charlie rad

No, let’s not hope. WW3 doesn’t leave any winners. We Americans are getting close to freeing our country from the globalists. TRUMP is getting there. It’s just like the Russians when Putin was trying to take control from Globalists-Yeltsin in 90s. This is the REAL reason Russians are holding back. Putin/Russians aren’t afraid of anyone. Globalists have used USA military & $$ for the last time to attack/invade countries. We the people never wanted this.

testera

Trump is getting where? He couldn’t change anything even if his position gave him actual power to do it. He would have serious problems with finding his ass in the dark with flashlight and written instructions.

Tudor Miron

“According to sources (many of them pro-opposition sources who, interestingly enough, claim to have heard the information from ‘Russian officials’)”(c) – looks like the same kind of BS that you’re spreading here constantly.

Solomon Krupacek

enough for what?? the correct answer is: to defend russian bases.

Solomon Krupacek

now are they in higher number.
moreover, i have no doubt, they will from time to time pound jihadists. but this is nothing. also 35 planes were not enough. 12 are less then nothing.

Joe

The number of jihadists left are also almost nothing .
They do not control even a single major townships all small villages with a few mud houses maybe in the middle of the deserts and they are
mostly underground though living like rats which they are.

So the few Nothing 35 planes are enough .

Logical?

Joe

Russia is not at this moment into confronting US for good logical and strategic reasons.

If Russia wants, she can.
F22 can be defeated by S400 as well as Su35

https://www.quora.com/How-does-the-F-22-Raptor-compare-to-the-Sukhoy-SU-35

US can be driven off once the Kurds join Assad as they ate negotiating now.

Kurds know very well they cannot take on Assad’s allies or lose even their right to stay in Syria.

US can at most be temporary in Syria, but Kurds are to stay forever.

The choice is a no brainier

Solomon Krupacek

F22 can be defeated by S400 as well as Su35

i will believe, when i will see it.

John Whitehot

unless F-22 have the ability to become immaterial when missiles are fired at them, they can be defeated by anti-air weapons.

In regards to seeing it, we probably never will anyway, because the interested parties aren’t keen on releasing info on downed planes.

One thing’s pretty sure though, there’s sites routinely looking at commercial satellite pics of the base at Hmeynym, hoping to be able to prove that Russia loses planes without admitting it, and so far the pics show there are no unaccounted missing aircraft.

It’s a pity someone doesn’t do the same with the interested USAF bases in the theater.

Charlie rad

Far more complicated than that. But your hardware assessment is correct. PUTIN & TRUMP now communicate regularly. just too many traitors in the CIA-FBI-Pentagon. Not for long. You all did notice on Mon Trump ordered the 1st EVER (History of USA) COMPLETE Audit of the Pentagon. That’s HUGE. HEADS will roll.

Rob

Russia should have to bring S-400 and Pantsir-S1 Air Defense Missile/Gun Systems to Deir Ezzor. Otherwise then they can win from ISIS on the ground but not in the sky.

Vitex

It’s all a little bit ridiculous.

SnowCatzor

To be honest, each version of events sounds like BS. The fact that the Americans think they even have a right to claim jurisdiction over any part of Syrian airspace is ridiculous though.

MasterBlaster7

Might makes right mud dweller.

Charlie rad

shut it ,Junior.

Rob

F-22 is better or equal to SU-25 in combat capabilities.

Tudor Miron

you wanted to say Su-35?

Rob

SU-35 is air superiority fighter jet. You wanna compare US junks F-22 with SU-35. LOL

Solomon Krupacek

there is no word in any human language to articualate, how stupid are you :DDDD

Joe

Well I suggest you read this post that comes with tech details F22 vs Su35

https://www.quora.com/How-does-the-F-22-Raptor-compare-to-the-Sukhoy-SU-35

You conclude or refute if you can

Solomon Krupacek

i will not read. you know, what is the exam od puding… After reeal combat situation i WILL KNOW. until that time i see fantasies.

John Whitehot

quora is the worst possible choice for info on a2a combat. It’s basically a cia media outlet where cia and LM agents make both the questions and the answers to perpetuate their lies to US folks

Icarus Tanović

There just few words in Horror novels to describe how ugly you are.

Tudor Miron

I asked if you wanted to say Su-35 because Su-25 is mostly CAS plane with very limited air to air capability which could be compared to A10. In fact F-22 is not junk – it is not perfect but at this point it is considered most advanced jet fighter. I love our Su-30/35s but that doesn’t make me blind. In theory F-22 would be very hard to detect until the moment he switches his radar on (and he is not supposed to do it till the moment he’s ready to fire and until than he should be directed by AWACS). To shot its missiles he would have to turn his radar on and as soon as he does it all its “stealthyness” goes out the window.

MasterBlaster7

Um..yah. F-22 would curb stomp a Su-35. The F-22 would switch on its radar 100 miles out at super cruise 1.8 mach….fire 3 aim-120 AMRAMM missiles…then switch its radar off and disappear…AMRAMM would then self guide to target…fire and forget. No chance of merge before the Su-35 is cooked. Your PAK FA has a chance at merge….but what…you guys have 12 of those and we have 196 F-22s. They don’t call it an air ‘dominance’ fighter for nothing.

Manuel Flores Escobar

ECM pods of SU 35 turn these AIM 120 in flares..

Tudor Miron

Hmmm…are you misinformed or trying to fool us? AMRAAM is fire and forget? Yes, when it is within 16-20 miles from target, till than the host has to guide it. Are you aware of actual (tested in real life vs seller promotional sales pitch)? Do you want me to give you some actual real life numbers numbers? If you do, I would.

Jack P

Sounds like Tudor Miron exposed MasterBlaster7 as a dimwit or intentinal obfuscator.

Charlie rad

some kid playing video games. Ignore the pimple-face.

Icarus Tanović

Oh, just, shut up.

John Whitehot

you can repeat the bs appearing in LM pamphlets, but in this case the F-22 is approached from behind, something that means it would be destroyed at the first sign of hostility.

also, they can call it “air dominance fighter” all they want, that doesn’t mean it does not get murked when in a bad tactical situation like this

Icarus Tanović

The moment he switches his radar on, he is already downed with S-300.
GAME OVER.

Charlie rad

&/or the S-400, Buk-2, etc,,,

Icarus Tanović

Or even S-200.

John Whitehot

the f-22 was very close and in that case ir missiles are to be preferred, also considering that Aim-120 amraams for some reason have had a very high failure rate in Syria.

Charlie rad

F-22 is our best fighter. SU-35 is Russias, until the SU-57 comes out. Both are awesome aircraft. That would be a tough fight. Circumstances would decide the winner. SU-57> to be determined. My guess the best. The F-35 is junk, Martin & Boeing used thousands of subcontractors in every state district & country so it would be hard to Cancel Politically. Imagine thousands of hands building 1-2 components & never meeting/talking to each other. No interaction. Crappy fit & cohesion.

Rob

F-22 is not stealthy anymore. In speed in mauverability and in efficiency, durability SU-35 is much better than F-22 and F-35.

Nigel Maund

You don’t say! The Su – 25 is an armored subsonic ground attack bomber with the original design some 30 years old. The F22 is a “top of the range” G5 interceptor. that cost US$ 200 million each The big unknown question will be how it fares against the upgraded Su – 35 interceptor? I’d rather not find out!

Solomon Krupacek

from the beginning i had feeling, that the russian version is not 100%-ly ;) :))

Joe

From what’s has been reported on other events, US or Russians post bullshits?

The Americans and British even claimed they defeated ISIS and UK claimed they killed 45,000 terrorists.

Which side do you believe…If still US why are you here in South Front that generally report about Russian /Assad’s sides?

You very well know, you get more accurate info here and is proven

Worse fake news …. Assad used chemical weapons on his own people . I bet you believe this too as practically all such are

Icarus Tanović

But wiat, this ain’t fake: Saudi air force spread droplets of Cholera viruses on Yemen.
Only Americans can provide thwm with that, and what, is the conclusion?
What is this double standard?
Another one was that Yemeni forces hit American destroyer with cruise missile. Okay, that, might be a true, but why Americans destroy Yemwni radar system, instead of shooting to the position from where missile was fired? To help Saudis get into Yemwni airspace undetected.

chris chuba

Look at many times did the Pentagon revised the following stories …
1. The shootdown of the Syrian Jet, claiming the SDF was bomb, no wait, bombing near the SDF.
2. The botched raid in Yemen, even the last version was BS, ‘Al Qaeda was using human shields’. Uh … the U.S. stormed a residence, by definition there are civilians there.
2. The Niger mission there, ‘no man was left behind’ oh wait maybe we did leave one guy, oh, maybe he was captured and shot in the head a day later.

Yeah, the Pentagon has a real good track record.

Solomon Krupacek

Hi Chris, you are totally right. I think, both, russians and americans tell the half of the truth. :) I do not beliebe none of them. But such tales, that the pilot of F-22 was only playing and shit himself, when he saw Su-35, are also brutal, for me unacceptable lies.

John Whitehot

if you are sitting in any plane and a fighter approaches you from the rear, your only option is to get away. Nobody said anyone shat himself or something.

Joe

One thing ,between the two versions I tend to believe the Russian version as US versions quote normal to report fake news . It’s in them blood from health matters to politics

Philippe Nassar

Soooo sadly TRUE.

Whatever happened, we might get some decent gun camera footage out of this yet.

Nigel Maund

Once again, the mischievous USAF (US) is looking to provoke trouble under orders from “the Deep State”. The US is in Syria ILLEGALLY and Assad is within his rights to shoot down the F22’s and the US would have no legal comebacks if he did so. Therefore, the US knows its playing a high stakes game to provoke a reaction which, they hope, they will soon get. However, both Assad and Putin know precisely what the US’s devious game is all about. They’ll play the longer game until the US will inevitably make a mistake and then politically the US will have committed suicide.

Charlie rad

Bravo Nigel. DEEPSTATE renegades 100%. You notice it’s always 1-2 aircraft. &/or limited # of troops. usually contractors.

Henk Poell

The Russians can simply claim they didn’t see that F-22 on the radar, and that they thought the flares must have been fireworks… :-)

Suyanto Ng

Pentagon statement seems based on Hollywood movie script.

The US Evil is by definition a DECEIVER. Never take what ever they say seriously.
