On September 12 morning, a suspected Israeli drone strike hit a vehicle close to the town of Khan Arnabah in the southern Syrian governorate of al-Quneitra.
The Lebanon-based Al-Mayadeen TV, which is close to the Syrian government, reported that the strike killed two people, a civilian and a military service member. The news channel didn’t reveal the identity of the two or provide any additional details on the strike.
Around the same time, a civilian was wounded when Israeli tanks shelled a farm close to the town of al-Rafeed which is also located in al-Quneitra.

The IDF has significantly escalated its attacks on Syria since the outbreak of the war in the Palestinian enclave of the Gaza Strip, targeting Syrian military sites as well as personnel of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Lebanese Hezbollah and other factions of the so-called Axis of Resistance.
The deadly strike on Khan Arnabah came just four days after an unprecedented Israeli attack on the town of Masyaf in the western governorate of Hama. The attack, which reportedly targeted a research center and civilian infrastructure, claimed the lives of 18 people, mostly of whom were civilians.
Following the deadly attack on Masyaf Lebanon’s Al-Akhbar newspaper reported that Israel may be nearing a decision to attack Hezbollah.
The Israeli attack could start with an invasion of Syria followed by a ground maneuver into Lebanon to separate the eastern governorate of Beqaa from the South governorate, the heartland of the Hezbollah, according to the newspaper, which has links to both the group and the Syrian governorate.
