Starbucks in Saudi Arabia Refuses to Serve Women – Report

A Starbucks coffee shop in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, refused to serve women, the Infowars information website reported. The company swiftly denied a claim, stating that it was a “temporary” measure “during a store renovation.”

A message, posted outside the Starbucks in Riyadh, which read, “Please no entry for ladies only send your driver to order – thank you,” was posted on Twitter by a user with the name of Manar N.

“Starbucks star in Riyadh refused 2 serve me just because I’m a WOMAN & asked me 2 send a man instead,” Manar N tweeted.

As Infowars noted, according to Islamic guardianship laws, which are in force on the territory of Saudi Arabia, a woman must be escorted by a man if she wants to perform a number of tasks, including opening a bank account and voting. Women also are not allowed to drive a car in the country.

After the image began to go viral, Starbucks explained “that was a temporary sign during a store renovation,” and noted that “this store now accommodates all customers in accordance with local law.”

However, as the website noted, there was no information whatsoever about a “renovation,” as well as no explanation how this would affect only women, in the message, posted outside the store.

The controversy is particularly curious, as Starbucks repeatedly demonstrated its “progressive values,” including ‘Race Together’ campaign last year, launched in support of ‘Black Lives Matter’, as well as its recent promise to hire 10,000 ‘refugees’, as an attempt to oppose the travel ban of US President Donald Trump.

I would like to propose that they send FEMEN to Saudi Arabia, that would probably be their last “performance” ever …
