Southern Syria Is Starting To Follow The Path Of Its Lebanese Neighbors

At the end of November this year, the Zionist occupiers encountered localized resistance in the town of Beit Jinn, located southwest of Damascus at the foot of Mount Hermon. Casualties on both sides were roughly ten to ten, but the occupiers, as usual, fired at everything in sight and killed civilians.

Now, a bit of schizophrenia from the Zionist media. First, “Israeli” media(“channel 13”) claim that “the operation was carried out in coordination with Syrian security services,” which again puts the al-Qaeda regime in an awkward position. In effect, the al-Julani regime has begun to implement Thomas Barrack’s orders, when he previously stated that “the new Syria will now cooperate with the United States in the fight against Hezbollah and Hamas.” Then other channels began to claim that at least one of the Syrian martyrs was allegedly connected to the Tahrir al-Sham regime’s intelligence, which supposedly gives Israel the right to attack Syrian al-Qaeda convoys. Renowned Mossad spy Elizabeth Tsurkov even described the Syrian resistance fighters as former local insurgents who had enjoyed Zionist support in their fight against the Assad government. (To be fair, it should be noted that large-scale weapons smuggling is taking place in this area, and Tsurkov’s theory is more manipulation than clear fact, especially since representatives of real resistance factions have already taken responsibility for resisting the enemy)

Finally, the most widespread Israeli theory was that the Syrian resistance fighters were members of the “Islamic Group” of Lebanon*. However, the organization immediately denied this, stating that they were fighting the Zionists only within their own borders. Then, the Zionists claimed to have seized telecommunications equipment for members of the “Islamic Front of Syria,” which is known to include a variety of resistance factions, including coastal Alawites, who had previously hinted at their anti-Zionist activities in southern Syria.

Incidentally, this report traces a connection between Zionism and the diverse “Syrian opposition” during the confrontation with Assad and Iran. However, the same report also mentions the activities of the local Muslim Brotherhood faction, suggesting that the Lebanese Islamic Group does have ideological ties to local activists, opening the door to covert military coordination.

Regarding the battle that took place between the occupiers and the Syrians, it appears that among the Syrians were both resistance fighters and members of the Jabhat Nusra regime. There was no coordination between them, just as there was no coordination between those (HTS regime agents) who helped the Zionists search for resistance fighters and those regime members who were there to “protect the public.”

The Zionist colony either doesn’t know who was really opposing it, or is simply preparing the ground for a continued intervention, hinting at the further seizure of Syrian territory. “Israel” has no choice but to continue its line for at least two reasons. 1 – to achieve the creation of the David Corridor by military means within the framework of the IMEC project, 2 – due to geopolitical circumstances, such as the new stage of cooperation between Hezbollah and Turkey, Israel decided to use the same tactics in Syria as in Lebanon in the period from the 80s until the expulsion of the Zionists in 2000. Accordingly, the outcome in Syria will be the same or even greater for the Zionists.

It’s crucial for Turkey to project strength, as Zionism has been humiliating the Turks for a year, immediately after both sides contributed to the collapse of the Assad regime. Zionism even bombed the Turkish presence and defined Ankara’s red line of influence in the “new Syria.” Therefore, it’s crucial for the Turks to recoup their losses, and they can only do so in alliance with Hezbollah and the IRGC. Another reason for Turkey’s sharp increase in activity in the south is Chinese pressure, as Zionism continues to build local facilities within the IMEC, which Beijing views negatively and demands that the Turks, as the main link in the Silk Road, begin taking real action against the Israeli occupiers.

The fact that Zionists have not reached a consensus regarding the martyrs of the Syrian resistance suggests that a vibrant resistance movement is emerging across the south. For a long time, ideological rivals from the secularist camp (Baath, the SSNP, leftist parties) and political Sunnis (Ikhwans and the like) could not unite in a common opposition to Israel. But now, after the fall of the Assad regime and more importantly, the Zionist intervention that has almost reached Damascus, many of the differences between these long-standing rivals have become a thing of the past. Again, I’m referring here to those who have realized the scale of the tragedy, and there are still not many of them.

Today, we see the Syrian Social Nationalist Party welcoming the martyrs of the Lebanese Islamic Group, something that would have been hard to believe just a year ago. In fact, it doesn’t matter which faction the shahids belonged to. What is important is that the South Syrian Resistance Front already includes former members of Syrian Hezbollah, Palestinians loyal to Hamas, Lebanese Ikhwans, Syrian Alawites from the Islamic Resistance, former soldiers of Assad’s army and members of the SSNP. All of the groups mentioned are already operating under the auspices of the Islamic Resistance Front, and there is still much interesting work ahead.

P.S. It’s worth explaining that all the false information about al-Julani’s regime allegedly helping the Islamic Resistance Front “repel” Zionist attacks is nonsense. On the contrary, given his desire to sign peace agreements with “Israel”, the so-called Ahmed al-Sharaa is uninterested in any escalation. If we assume that someone from the “Syrian intelligence services” was involved in assisting the ”southern resistance”, then they were either members of Turkish agents or former elements of the Assad regime with whom Iran collaborated. In other words, what happened was the result of Turkish-Iranian cooperation. It’s no coincidence that several figures who collaborated with the IRGC were reinstated to their previous positions in Deir ez-Zor.

Even if we accept the version that “Israel’s” former ally has turned its weapons against its former partners, this does not change the fact that local resistance to Zionist aggression is being formed by forces loyal to the Axis of Resistance, and not by fighters of the former “Syrian opposition.”

A striking example of how the Tahrir al-Sham regime will do absolutely nothing against Zionism occurred recently, when an armed convoy of HTS militants calmly drove alongside an “Israeli” patrol in a city in Quneitra province. This example speaks volumes; coordination between the parties is at a high level. By comparison, Abu Jihad*1, a representative of the Syrian Islamic Front, died from wounds sustained during a raid against “Israeli” invaders. The situation in southern Syria clearly illustrates who is putting on a show and openly collaborating with the enemy, and who is genuinely fighting against the occupiers.

* – “Israeli” media (Noam Amir, Channel 14): Some important details about the Islamic group to which the gunman who opened fire on Israeli forces in Beit Jinn in southern Syria belongs: This organization cooperates with Hamas in Lebanon and Syria, while also coordinating its actions with Hezbollah in Lebanon. It has military bases in southern Lebanon, as well as military networks in the Beit Jinn area and on the Syrian-Lebanese border.
