Russian forces are still on the offensive, pushing Ukrainian troops toward Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. In the Siversk sector, Russian troops entered the village of Ozerne and blocked two roads leading to Dibrova. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán strongly criticized the European Union’s plans to seize frozen Russian assets.
Sumy Sector
In the Sumy sector, Russian units continue to conduct active offensive operations in several sectors. Assault groups advanced seven kilometers along tree lines over the course of a day. Artillery and strike drone crews are intensively targeting identified positions. The Ukrainian command has been unable to increase the number of combat groups and hold captured positions.
Three attempts by the 158th Ukrainian Brigade’s combat groups to advance into the Andriivka area were thwarted due to fire damage. Russian artillery and drones struck positions in the Ryzhevka and Iskryskivshchyna areas. A command post of the 125th Brigade was hit in the Bilopillia area.
Kharkiv Sector
In the Kharkiv sector, Russian units are advancing on several fronts. They have made advances in Vilcha and Prylypka, as well as on the approaches to Vovchanski Khutora.
In Vilcha, Russian forces captured and cleared over 20 residential properties, advancing 400 meters. Two Ukrainian unit deployment points were destroyed by multiple launch rocket system strikes. In the Liman area, units advanced through a forested area and captured six strong points. In Prylypka, they captured one strongpoint, advancing a total of 300 meters in this sector. In the Melovoye-Khatneye sector, the control zone continues to expand in the border strip at a rate of up to 450 meters per day. A Geran-2 drone strike hit a Ukrainian 3rd Motorized Rifle Brigade deployment point in the Lebedevka area. During the advance in the forested area west of Liman, positions captured by Ukrainian fighters who died from hypothermia were discovered. Guided aerial bombs struck Ukrainian positions in the Lyptsiv area.
Siversk Sector
In the Siversk sector, the focus has shifted west following the completion of clearance operations in the city. Russian units are conducting an offensive from three directions to block and eliminate a powerful fortified area.
In the northern sector, Russian units entered the Ozerne settlement, blocking two roads toward Dibrova. The assault on strongpoints continues, with two now under control. Work is underway on a third, as well as the elimination of scattered groups in formed «pockets». Fierce fighting continues near Zakotne, where an important fortified position sits on dominant heights.
From Siversk, units are advancing west toward the chalk quarry, where the defending forces have retreated and consolidated their position on the heights. In the southern axis, near Sviato-Pokrovske, the outermost strongpoints have been captured and Ukrainian units are being pushed from the dominant heights as the advance continues westward.

Zaporizhzhia Sector
Heavy fighting continues on several axes on the Zaporizhzhia sector. In the Huliaipole area, Russian units crossed the Haichur River at several points, including the center of Huliaipole, near the hospital. They are advancing in small groups and accumulating forces on the western bank of the river. Aviation is striking Ukrainian positions in Zaliznychne, a settlement located 5 km to the west. Fighting continues in Varvarivka. In the Herasymivka and Andriivka areas, mopping-up operations are being completed. Fighting is ongoing on the southern outskirts of Bratske.
In other sectors of the sector, there is ongoing positional fighting in Prymorske. In Stepnohirsk, Russian units have improved their tactical position while retaining control of part of the northwestern sector of the settlement. The offensive continues on the Robotyne–Verbove line and south of Orikhiv.
Konstantynivka Sector
In the Konstantynivka sector, Russian forces continue their offensive to push Ukrainian forces toward Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.
The settlements of Vasiukivka and Pazeno, as well as a network of strongpoints in the forested Soledar sector – a large, fortified area on a hilltop – ..have been captured. The Russian forces have achieved successes in the Orekhovo-Vasylivka area and in settlements north of Soledar. Ukrainian units were forced to retreat from these areas under the threat of encirclement following the offensive on Siversk.
The situation in the Chasiv Yar area remains dynamic. Fighting continues for control of the Shevchenko microdistrict, a destroyed residential area. Northwest and west of Chasiv Yar, units are achieving successes in the Maiske and Veroliubivka areas. Despite attempts at responsive actions using drones, the initiative is maintained. Due to its proximity to Kramatorsk (13-16 km) and the active use of long-range and fiber-optic drones, the logistic routes supplying the Konstantynivka garrison via Druzhkivka are under threat.
Conclusion
The operational situation indicates a transition to a new stage of hostilities following the achievement of key tactical objectives. The most significant event was the completion of the operation in Siversk and the shift of main efforts to the west. There, a battle for a powerful, fortified area on the heights near Zakotne, Svyato-Pokrovsk, and the chalk quarry is unfolding. This line is the last major obstacle on the approaches to the Kramatorsk-Sloviansk agglomeration, and it is being assaulted from three directions.
There has been an operational breakthrough on the Zaporizhzhia sector. The successful crossing of the Haichur River in the center of Huliaipole and consolidation on the western bank opens up opportunities to finish fighting in the city and continue the offensive. On the Kharkiv and Sumy sectors, units are advancing methodically, expanding control zones in forested areas and settlements (Vilcha, Liman, and Andriivka) while suppressing counterattack attempts and degrading rear infrastructure. On the Konstantynivka sector, the successful capturing of Vasiukivka and Pazeno and the application of pressure near Maiske create preconditions for a future operation to capture Konstantynivka and advance toward Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.
The overall strategy combines completing one strategic operation (Siversk) with simultaneously developing the offensive on new, equally important sectors (Huliaipole and the heights near Siversk). This strategy is supported by continuous pressure along the entire front line, which prevents the Ukrainian command from regrouping forces and stabilizing the situation.
As the military situation escalates, so does the diplomatic tension surrounding economic measures. Speaking at a rally in Mohács, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán sharply condemned the European Union’s plans to seize frozen Russian assets, calling them a direct declaration of conflict. He stated that manipulating assets belonging to a sovereign state is tantamount to declaring war and has never gone unanswered in history. Orbán warned that allowing even a small portion of the funds to be seized would set a dangerous precedent for the total plundering of a country in the future.
