Situation Remains Tense In Northwestern Aleppo As YPG And Pro-Turkish Militant Groups Fight Each Other

The local council of Darat Azza has released an official statement condemning the attack carried out by the YPG fighters on the town. The council accused YPG of cutting off water from the town, stealing some of the town’s resources, and also accused YPG fighters of harassing the civilians on their checkpoints.

In the statement, the council said YPG used newly supplied weapons in its latest attack – in reference to US military aid.

On Thursday, the fighting between the joint forces of the Free Syrian Army (FSA), Ahrar al-Sham, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and YPG fighters continued in northwestern Aleppo.

Islamists shelled YPG positions and civilian areas north of Darat Azza. The YPG responded with shelling positions of militant groups in Darat Azza.

According to opposition sources, the Turkey-backed Abna’ al-Sham group has deployed more troops to support the FSA in Darat Azza.

In the meantime, Turkey announced that it had completed the construction of a 828 km border wall along the Syrian-Turkish border. The Turkish move is believed to be a directed step against the Kurds mainly.Members of extremist groups such as HTS still enjoy the freedom of movement between Turkey and Syria, even after the construction of the wall.

Am assuming the Syrian government is turning over a blind eye with whats happening, since the Kurdish militant groups are now in bed with the US.

BlueInGreen

Sounds about right.

Solomon Krupacek

wouldbe bigmistake! immediately go there american soldiers to help.

the opposit way is good. cooperation, officially allow also the languages of minorities. the kurds must feel syria as their homeland. and safe homeland.

Daniel Castro

It’s pretty clear now they want to partition the country, SDF is a separatist group.

Right now syrian war is not a civil warm but a war against foreign invaders, after the country gets rid of the NATO/wahabi scum then there is a chance a real civil war will start between Damascus and the separatist Kurds.

Solomon Krupacek

but in cooperation also the saa can go in that territory.

Daniel Castro

They are not cooperatng, SDF blocked the road to Deir Ezzor through Maskanah, they let the door open to IS flee Raqqah and attack Deir Ezzor and Palmira, these are aggressive actions equivalent to an direct attack, they are helping Is to take Deir Ezzor so they can take it later, and they don’t care about the thousands civilians IS will slaughter if they capture the city, if they want to be allies they shouldn’t act as enemies.

Solomon Krupacek

sdf are arabs, ypg are kurds. in afrin are kurds.

it is tamie to divide them :) divide et impera

Ronald

There is a chance of a civil war , but it should be discouraged , not encouraged .

The syrian government wants no part in that conflict at the moment I believe. They are engaged in many other fronts and winning.

Daniel Castro

Syrian war is a real mess, I guess it’s going to be a real case of study on military history.
