On December 14, forces loyal to Saudi-backed President Hadi announced that they have captured the district of Shaqat al-Qurah in the province of al-Jawf in northern Yemen after a successful military operation that was launched few weeks ago from their positions in the northern part of Saada province.
According to the UAE-based al-Arabiya TV, pro-Hadi forces killed over 30 fighters of the Houthis during its advance towards Shaqat al-Qurah.
The operation is backed by the Saudi-led coalition. It’s aimed at opening a route between the coalition’s positions in Sadda and al-Jawf provinces. The coalition will likely use this land route to attack the heartland of the Houthis, Saada city, in the near future.
Meanwhile, Saudi sources reported that coalition warplanes conducted dozens of airstrikes on the Houthis in northern and western Yemen in the last 24 hours. At least three commanders of the Houthis, “Mohammad al-Madani”, “Shaker Mansour al-Quhum” and “Abd al-Fatah al-Ma’afa” were killed in the airstrikes, according to the sources.
The recent operation of the Saudi-led coalition suggests that Saudi Arabia is once again seeking a military victory in Yemen, and os not going to work in the direction of a political solution as its officials have claimed on many occasions before.
Saudi-led, funny.. Led by Saudi money, not Saudi.
zio saudi wahhabis will be defeated like in syria and iraq – they only win when it comes to perm hell stay in the deepest end – losers forever
The Jerusalem strategy is a diversion and puts Salman disingenuously on side with Islam, also the US is attempting a Naval blockade against North Korea, but why when that fails shouldn’t there be a move against the Saudi blockade of Yemen, think about it what I brought to this Earth has so far destroyed Christianity, Communism, Secularism and now it’s biting into Islam, how can this hypocritical King Salmon represent Salafist Theology, ? why is he not much worse than Netanyahu, ? after all Netanyahu is evil, but King Salman is a traitor as well as being evil.
Perhaps Sunni and Shi’a will find they have more in common than they have differences.
Inch Allah.
According to A Guillaume who translated “The Life of Muhammad” ibn. Ishaq’s Sirat Rasul Allah.
and who also wrote a History of Islam in 1954 before recent antagonisms distorted everything, when the Shi’ite were almost pacifist in many instances which is usually surprising for most people who assume it’s always been bad blood.
I think that the cause of the schism was a common attitude by a conquering people as a bullying condescending bombastic behavioural tendency, causing a need to preserve ancestral heritage by the Shi’ite focusing on their Imams especially the Ayatollah making the Shi’ite conception of supreme authority in law as very different from Sunnies , they reject the four schools of Jurisprudence because the Hidden Imam has the sole right to determine “what the believer shall do and believe”.
I think this is the crucial difference that needs to be debated, because the Shi’ite Supreme Authority is in occultation and so ties into Philosophical history which offers freedom from dogmatic interpretation because the Imam with all the answers is hidden.
The bad part is the genetic linkage is a bit like (Pk) David which couldn’t be right or advantageous in any way.
It would be good to have a discourse develop, I could accept al-Wahhab only when the Kingdom was aloof from direct control of Islam, al-Wahhab has not contributed anything to Islam or Salafists Doctrine to think of that mug as a companion Ibn Taymiyya and Imam Ahmad Hanbal is ludicrous.
The Saudis crow that over 85% of Yemen has been ‘liberated’. So when is Hadi going to leave his hotel in Riyadh and take up residence in one of these choice areas of Yemen?
hhahahahhaha!!! i wouldnt hold my breathe!!
