On September 10, the Saudi-backed wing of the Yemeni military said that its units had foiled more than five infiltrations by the Houthis (Ansar Allah) on several fronts in Yemen.

In a statement, the military said that the infiltration attempts were apart of 245 violations of the ceasefire in Yemen the Houthis carried out between September 7 and 9.

The Houthis carried out 67 violations in the western province of al-Hudaydah, 48 in the central province of Ma’rib, 75 in the southwestern province of Taiz, 35 in the northwestern province of Hajjah, 14 in the northern province of al-Jawf, four in the southwestern province of al-Dali and two in the northern province of Saada.

The infiltration attempts targeted positions of Saudi-backed forces on the northeastern and eastern fronts of Taiz city, on Harad front in western Hajjah as well as on several fronts in Ma’rib.

The ceasefire in Yemen, which was brokered by the United Nations, entered into effect on April 2 and was set to end two months later, on June 2. Nevertheless, it was extended two times, first until August 2 and then until October 2.

The Houthis have been also reporting violations by the Saudi-led coalition and its proxies since the start of the UN-brokered ceasefire.

According to the group, the coalition and its proxies carried out 245 violations between September 9 and 10 only. The violations included four drone strikes that targeted military positions in al-Dali and al-Hudaydah.

Despite the repeated violations by both sides, the ceasefire in Yemen is still holding up. The Saudi-led coalition and the Houthis will not likely resume large-scale military operations any time soon. The UN is currently working to improve the conditions of the ceasefire as well as to extend it.
