On September 13, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Geneva Abdulaziz al-Wasil said that Saudi Arabia is not against a proposed resolution at the UN Human Rights Council to launch an independent, international investigation of crimes in Yemen war. However, al-Wasil questioned the timing of this proposal.
“We have no objection (to) the inquiry itself, we just have a discussion about the timing … Whether this is the right time to establish an international commission with the difficulties on the ground, and we knew in advance that they will face tremendous obstacles in terms of access,” al-Wasil said from Geneva.
Both Canada and the Netherlands are backing the resolution in the UN Human Rights Council. However, al-Wasil claimed that the Yemeni National Commission (YNC) is in a “better position to investigate”. Al-Wasil added that Saudi Arabia will work to reach a middle ground with other sides.
On September 11, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid bin Ra’ad announced that the UN has verified at least 5,144 civilians who have been killed in Yemen war. Moreover, Ra’ad said that he doesn’t believe that the YNC can carry out an independent, international investigation of crimes in Yemen war.
If the YNC handles the investigation, the investigation can’t be considered “independent”, because the YNC is mainly backed by Saudi Arabia.
Why not?
The US government was the judge on the genocide of the native Indians. The allies were judge in Nuremberg trials and found out that only Germans were guilty, systematic killing of civilians by bombing wasn’t a crime. Americans were the judge on Nuclear bombing of civilians in Japanese cities, you know they prevented more loss of human life by murdering 200,000 defenceless civilians. Zionists are judge on Israel’s genocide of Palestinians, why on earth Saudis can’t do the same considering their seat on the Human Rights Commission and-wait for it- women’s right?
I recommend that you reevaluate the history and learn of the biased, one-sided approach to the Nuremburg show trials. I’m no National Socialist, I merely acknowledge that the only ones persecuted at Nuremburg and Tokyo war tribunals were on the side that lost the war.

More smoke and mirrors – “On September 11, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid bin Ra’ad announced that the UN has verified at least 5,144 civilians who have been killed in Yemen war. ” ………. at least 5,144 civilians that have been killed = at least 10 civilians have been killed, it is nonsense; UNHCR is a puppet of the US.
The proposal by Canada and the Netherlands would be Good if they are the ones doing the investigation with a UN peacekeeping mission in place, the government in Yemen but which one, include parties for both sides. If the Saudis are guilty the UNHCR will block any findings but this would go to exposing the US and Saudis along with Israel.
