On October 5th, an improvised explosive device hit a Turkish military convoy on the Nahliya-Ariha road to the south of the city of Idlib.

A jihadi group called “Saryat Ansar Abu Bakr al-Siddiq” claimed responsibility for the attack., sharing some photographs.

According to preliminary data, several officers of the Turkish Armed Forces were killed and wounded.

The Turkish Defense Ministry is yet to comment on the issue.

The Saryat Ansar Abu Bakr al-Siddiq group is known to be active in southern Idlib. On August 28, a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (SVBIED) hit a Turkish post in southwestern Idlib countryside.

Turkish convoys are spotted in Syria’s Idlib on a regular basis. They supply military equipment as well as construction materials used to reinforce positions of the Turkish Armed Forces in the region. The Turkish military maintains more than 60 posts, camps and bases throughout Greater Idlib.

Another Turkish convoy entered Idlib late on October 2nd. Trucks delivered concrete blocks to the Jabal az-Zawiya area for the construction of a new military post.

On October 4, Turkish Army also established a new post in the village of Benin in the Ariha district of Idlib.

The strengthening of Turkish troops may be related to rumors about the upcoming ground operation of the Syrian Arab Army.

Turkish troops deployed in the northwestern Syrian region of Greater Idlib had been reportedly ordered to respond to any attack by the Syrian Arab Army after coordinating with the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation and al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham.

I hope the turkish jokers keep reinforcing “their” positions. The SAA and allies thank you as they will all fall into government hands very soon.

The Turks have expanded the agreed (march 2000) post of 12 to 62 and are clearly in violation of the agreement.
