Russo-Ukrainian trading relationships about to worsen

Ukraine’s decision to create a free-trade zone with the European Union is the main cause why Russian enterprises operating in Ukraine could step back and start removing their actives from the country since the possible cancellation of the preferences regime by Russia.

The accomplishment of the association of Ukraine with Europe is absolutely important and a key issue for the enforcement of the adaptation of Ukrainian laws to European ones planned to happen in 2017 according to Kiev.

Russian Prime Minister Dimitri Medvédev claimed that if Ukraine continues to carry out their alliance with the European Union (EU), Russia will restore normal trading policies, without any kind of preferences due to the risk that merchandise influx without Customs controls from Europe represent. He also said that just a few companies would need support from the State once the measure is implemented.
