A prototype batch of T-14 main battle tanks based on the Armata Universal Combat Platform is undergoing operational evaluation in Russia’s combat units. This is the last phase preceding the type’s service entry and a large-scale production. Alexander Zharich, deputy director general of “Uralvagonzavod”, said this in the interview to the Russian daily, “Izvestia”.

Uralvagonzavod is a Russian machine building company which is one of the largest scientific and industrial complexes in the country. It’s responsible for design and development of the Armata combat platform.

According to Zharich, Russia’s combat units recieved about 20 T-14 MBTs for an operational evaluation. He noted that the testing is going in accordance with the schedule and “no problem” has been revealed.

“The full-scale delivery may be launched at any time, as soon as the customer makes up his mind.” Zharich said.
