Russian military sources claimed Russian control of the village of Orekhovo-Vasilevka located to the north-west of the city of Artyomovsk (former Bakhmut) in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The reports were confirmed by Vladimir Rogov, a member of the Main Council of the Administration of the Zaporozhye region.
Russian counterattacks on the north-western outskirts of Artyomovsk were reported the day before. Russian forces deployed in Dubovo-Vasilievka advanced simultaneously in two directions towards the villages of Grigorovka and Orehovo-Vasilievka.

As a result of the counterattacks on September 24, Russian paratroopers of the 106th Brigade regained control of the village of Orekhovo-Vasilevka. The mop up operation is ongoing in the settlement. Since the full control of the village is yet to be secured, the Russian military officials are waiting to officially claim the control of the village.
“On the northern flank of the Artemivsk direction, Russian soldiers knocked out the AFU militants from the village of Orekhovo-Vasilevka. Carrying out the attack, our guys caught the Nazis by surprise – they did not expect the assault and were forced to flee. The liberation of the settlement significantly improves the tactical positions of the Russian forces in this sector of the front.” Rogov wrote.
In their turn, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are pulling reserves to the area to try to recapture the settlement. Their counterattacks are expected.

Russian advance on the north-western flank of Artyomovsk forces the Ukrainian military command to transfer additional forces to the area, weakening their grouping on other directions. As a result, the AFU are distracted from the southern outskirts of Artyomovosk, where after months of heavy battles, they finally managed to push Russian forces out from Klescheevka and Andreevka but where they are yet to gain a stronghold.
The frontlines almost did not change to the south of Artyomovsk. The villages of Andreevka and Klescheevka remain in the grey zone after the Russian military withdrew their positions across the railway line located on the eastern outskirts of the settlements. While Russian forces continue attacks of Ukrainian hideouts in the northern part of Klescheevka, the AFU attempted to break through Russian defences along the railway line on the south-eastern outskirts. Each of the warring sides is yet to achieve any success. Heavy battles and artillery duels continue in the area.

The situation also remain tense in Andreevka, where the AFU failed to gain a foothold in the ruins of the small village. Russian forces are pounding Ukrainian servicemen with artillery and launch counterattacks in the area.
The village of Kurdyumovka remains under full Russian control, threatening the AFU with encirclement in the case of their advance eastwards.
The necessity to reinforce their positions to the north-west of Artyomovsk may threaten Kiev’s plan to break through Russian defences on the southern flank and their counteroffensive in Bakhmut will result in huge losses and no victories on the ground.

also it much cheaper to make weapons in russia than nato, because of labour wages, available raw materials and energy (lots in russia) and lower margins in russia as state companies not private like in nato.

russian paratroopers have some very nice rifles. russians must have selected a defensive line for maximizing drone warfare and artillery.
