if the russians push through to novomikhailovka and take the town it would be a major strategic upset for ukraine that would lead to a possible collapse in this region. if the russians take up to kostyanivka, it threatens the southern flank of marinka, and the northern flank of vuhledar, the latter of which would threaten the entire southern eastern portion fo ukraines lines.
