Russian Su-33 from Admiral Kuznetsov's Deck Spotted over Syrian Tartus

The Russian Su-33 carrier-based fighter jets have started to patrol the sky space over Syria’s Tartus, the Vestnik Mordovii reported, citing Syrian sources. Apparently, the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft cruiser and the Russia’s aircraft carrier group are very close to Syrian territorial waters.

In addition to the Su-33s, the MiG-29K multirole aircraft and the MiG-29KUB fighter jets, as well as the Ka-27, the Ka-31 and the Ka-52 helicopters are also stationed on the board of the most powerful vessel of the Russian Navy.

The Admiral Kuznetsov is escorted by another Russian giant – the Pyotr Velikiy nuclear-powered battlecruiser, equipped with powerful attack and defensive missile weapons.

As it is expected, in the near future, the Russian ships will take part in operations against aggression of international terrorism’s forces in Syria.

what’s very impressive is the air defence capability of the group. The Pyotr Veliky adds a huge number of improved S-300 missiles to the already in theatre S-400 and S-300MV units.
