Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) had foiled a car bomb attack in the Crimean Peninsula, RIA Novosti reported on March 2.
According to the news agency, a booby-trapped car that tried to enter Crimea via the Dzhankoy crossing on the administrative border between the Peninsula and the Kherson region was uncovered by security officers.
During an inspection of a car, which was “driven by a law enforcement officer from the Kherson region,” FSB officers discovered “an object resembling an explosive device attached to the bottom [of the vehicle] under the driver’s seat,” a security source told RIA Novosti.
The unnamed source added that the car was swiftly moved to a safe location, with sappers successfully neutralizing the bomb.
FSB experts have established that the improvised explosive device “was assembled from foreign-made parts, supplied to Ukraine by NATO states,” according to the source, who said that an investigation has been launched and security services were working to identify those connected to the plot.
A series of terrorist attacks hit Crimea after the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine more than two years ago, including two bombings that damaged the bridge linking the peninsula with the Krasnodar Krai region. The intelligence services of the Kiev regime were behind all of these attacks.
Ukrainian intelligence was also behind a series of assassinations that targeted local Russian officials in Kherson and other regions that joined Russia following the special military operations.
The Kiev regime and its backers apparently view these terrorist attacks as a way to make up for its never ending failure on the battlefields.
