Members of the Russian Military Police held the 7th meeting with a local opposition coommittee in an area north of the government-held city of Homs.
According to local sources, the sides once again discussed the deliveries of humanitarian aid to the area and the possible reopening of the M5 highway, which links the provinces of Hama and Homs.
However, no agreement on the highway was reached. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) had a notable influence in the area and prevents the rest of the “opposition” from reaching an agreement with the Russians.
