Russia’s Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu
On February 14th, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that military exercises in Russian fleets and military districts are coming to their end.
The exercises of the Russian military were held in almost all fleets and military districts. According to Mr. Shoigu, some of them are coming to an end and some will be completed in the near future. Part of the exercises has already been completed.
“The exercises are conducted by the Western Military District, practically on all fleets, including in the Barents Sea, the Black Sea, the Baltic Sea, the Pacific Fleet. The troops of almost all military districts take part in them,” the minister said.
The scheduled exercises of the Russian military and its fleets on the Russian territory and in its waters inflamed a new wave of accusations against Moscow. The United States, other NATO countries and Ukraine announced the concentration of Russian troops at the Ukrainian border and the threat of a Russian invasion. In its part, the Kremlin denied such claims, constantly confirming that Russia has no aggressive plans against other countries, including Ukraine.
The end of military exercises should calm down Ukraine and its partners. However, the hysteria against Russia has already reached the point of no return.
