Russian Iskander Destroyed Ukrainian Military Column In Sumy Region

A precision strike of Russian Iskander missile destroyed a military column of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Sumy region. It was first reported by unofficial Russian sources on July 8. LINK Today, the successful strike was officially confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense. The claims were supported by the footage filmed by the Russian reconnaissance UAV. 

According to the official report, the military column of the AFU was spotted by Russian reconnaissance UAV near the village of Stetskovka in the Sumy region. As a result of the strikes, 20 military vehicles and up to 65 Ukrainian servicemen were destroyed.

The Ukrainian military command decided to send reinforcement to the border Sumy region in response to a series of Russian ground military operations across the border. On July 7, both Russian and Ukrainian military sources reported that Russian reconnaissance groups crossed the border and took control of the villages of Popovka and Aleksandrovka. Earlier, on July 1, similar Russian attacks were reported in the villages of Zhuravka and Veselovka. The small scaled Russian operations in the border settlements force the Ukrainian military to waste precious reserves and reinforce their positions along new frontlines. Threatened by another Russian offensive, the Ukrainian military command is sending columns with military personnel and equipment to the area, which are closely observed by Russian reconnaissance.
