Russian Foreign Ministry: Assasination Of DPR Head Undermines Peaceful Political Settlement In Donbass

Sputnik / Irina Gerashchenko

The Russian Foreign Ministry released an official statement commenting on the assasination of the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Alexander Zakharchenko in the city of Donetsk on August 31 (source):

Tragic news from Donetsk – Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Alexander Zakharchenko was killed in a terrorist attack.

We express our condolences to Alexander Zakharchenko’s friends and family and wish prompt recovery to the wounded and injured in the blast, and we wish Donbass residents courage and stamina.

We are confident that an investigation will be held soon and that all the circumstances of that crime will be established and the perpetrators and their sponsors will be identified.

However, it is clear that the goal of the terrorist attack was to derail the process of peaceful political settlement in Donbass and the implementation of the Minsk Agreements. It looks especially cynical against the backdrop of the recently announced “back-to-school” ceasefire. The assassination of one of the signatories of the Minsk Package of Measures runs along Kiev’s logic of a military solution to the internal Ukrainian crisis. Such actions carry the serious risk of destabilising the situation in southeast Ukraine.

We call on Kiev to stop relying on terrorism to resolve Ukraine’s domestic issues. We hope that responsible Ukrainian politicians will find the strength to stop the party of war and prevent the escalation of the confrontation in Donbass.

I think Benjanyahu is not happy from Russia due to anti terrorist operation in Syria. That is why he has taken this revenge from DPR head.

The Antonov An-225 Mriya is a strategic airlift cargo aircraft that was designed by the Antonov Design Bureau in the Ukrainian SSR within the Soviet Union during the 1980s. It is powered by six turbofan engines and is the world largest and heaviest aircraft ever built by Ukraine, with a maximum takeoff weight of 640 tonnes.

After 1991 when Ukraine separated from Soviet Union under conspiracy of US and UK then from that date it is hit by different crisis from US and UK. Their military and civil industry vanished. Economy destroyed. Under US and UK pressure Ukrainian government have dismantled their aforementioned aircrafts and their manufacturing industries. Now Ukraine is vulnerable to any threat from US and UK.

So true. The US rides the back of the ex soviet plane. The master and the slave. The slave is controlled by de facto ruler even though slaves government has nuclear weapons. A picture is worth a thousand words. The DPRK does not plan to be a slave of the FED or US military.

Rob

Both planes belong to Soviet Union.

Yes US satellites ride Russian Rockets but the US space shuttle never rode the Soviet AN 225.I suppose the Soviets refused to help the US that would later sanction the Russian people.

“The Soviet speculation was that the shuttle would be used to capture or destroy satellites,” says Lewis, who specializes in Soviet and Russian space programs. “This was during the era when the Soviet Union was really going full force trying to keep up with U.S. military technology, so they wanted a shuttle for themselves and they built it as a competitor to the U.S. shuttle.”

“It was roundly decried in the arena of Soviet space sciences at that time,” Lewis says. Soviet space officials lamented Buran’s draining of funds from more successful endeavors. “It was the time when their space scientists had the world’s attention because of the culmination of Soviet accomplishment in exploring Venus.” (Tuesday is the anniversary of the first human spaceflight, by Yuri Gagarin in 1961.)

Despite those objections, the Soviet government committed extensive resources to the program.

At its peak, Buran involved more than 150,000 engineers, scientists, technicians, and other employees—even if many of the factory workers didn’t initially know exactly what they were producing. The program began in secret, but word soon leaked out. In 1982, Australian reconnaissance aircraft circulated photos of Russian ships pulling out of the ocean a small model spacecraft that looked very familiar to American eyes. I mistook it for US shuttle.
