In recent weeks, Russian troops continue offensive operations around the town of Konstantinovka, Having intensified attacks south of Dzerzhinsk (Toretsk) they achieved significant gains. On April 16th, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation officially confirmed full control of the village of Kalinovo.

The Russian military is set to eliminate a large Ukrainian-held salient southwest of the city, where the frontlines had previously remained almost unchanged between the towns of Baranovka and Novgorodskoye. Through a series of attacks, Russian forces pushed Ukrainian troops out of several key settlements and secured control over strategic areas.

Battles continue on western outskirts of Dzerzhinsk:

The offensive intensified in mid-March. Russian units focused their efforts on the Novokalinovo-Novobakhmutovka line, where they encircled Ukrainian positions near the N-20 highway. By late March, troops from the 68th Tank Regiment, supported by armored vehicles, advanced on Aleksandropol and Panteleimonovka. By March 27, Panteleimonovka was liberated.

Simultaneously, Russian forces breached Ukrainian defenses near Kalinovo. In the beginning of April, most the village was fully under Russian control. Attempts of Ukrainian special forces to counterattack were repelled, but they prolonged the mop up operations.

Russian troops continue successful offensive operations in the direction of Konstantinovka, with advances in the areas of Kalinovo, Valentinovka, Sukhaya Balka, Stupochki and Chasov Yar. Achieving tactical gains, they are steadily approaching the large Ukrainian stronghold from different directions.

The recent Russian advances south of Dzerzhinsk and on the Konstantinovka axis demonstrate growing momentum, forcing Ukraine to divert reserves and potentially weakening other sectors of the front. With Kalinovo now under full Russian control, further offensive operations are likely, though Ukrainian counterattacks will not stop. The situation remains dynamic, with both sides vying for tactical advantages in this critical sector of the conflict.
