Russian troops have secured another tactical victory on the Donbass frontlines, taking control of the village of Kotlyarovka and pushing Ukrainian forces across the administrative border of the Dnepropetrovsk region. New victory, confirmed by Russia’s Defense Ministry, signals the upcoming strategic shift in momentum along this entire sector of the front, threatening Ukrainian supply lines and opening new avenues for further Russian offensives.

The small but strategically positioned settlement of Kotlyarovka, located just three kilometers from the Dnepropetrovsk region, was liberated by units of Russia’s Center group of forces. Before the war, the village had a population of around 100 residents and was a small agricultural community. Control of Kotlyarovka now allows Russian forces to disrupt key Ukrainian logistics routes, further straining Kyiv’s ability to reinforce its troops, including in the nearby Pokrovsk direction.

Simultaneously, Russian assault groups are advancing on a wide front, from the south, pressuring Ukrainian defence near Troitske and Orekhovo, where fierce fighting continues. If these pushes consolidate, they could create a pincer movement, isolating Ukrainian units still holding positions along the Donbas-Dnepropetrovsk border.

Further north, Russian armored units have made notable progress west of Novoalexandrovka, securing territory along the Solyona River and expanding control over an additional nine square kilometers. According to preliminary field reports, Novoaleksandrovka came under the full Russian control. Most concerning for Ukrainian defenses, is the reported Russian advance toward Novonikolaevka from the south, located right on the border of the region. If confirmed, this would mark the closest Russian forces have come to breaching the Dnepropetrovsk region from this axis. The situation in neighboring Novosergeevka remains volatile, with intense urban combat reported as Ukrainian troops attempt to hold back further Russian encroachment.

Meanwhile, south of this sector, Russia’s Vostok group of forces continues its assault on the streets of Bogatyr, raising the possibility of the upcoming broader collapse in Ukrainian defensive lines if coordination between Russian units proves effective.

Russian forces in Dnipropetrovsk direction:

Ukrainian forces are facing mounting challenges in this Dnipropetrovsk direction, particularly due to Russia’s extensive use of reconnaissance and attack drones, which have made movement and resupply increasingly difficult. Ukrainian tactics appear focused on severing Russian advance units from their rear support with also massive dron strikes.

The fall of Kotlyarovka and the looming threat to Novonikolaevka suggest that Russian command may be preparing for a deeper push into the Dnepropetrovsk region. Such a move would not only disrupt Ukrainian logistics but also open a new operational direction, forcing Kyiv to divert already stretched reserves.

ru should not announce that they are going to hazelnut kiev, this is stupid. it works only when it’s a surprise attack during the working hours. with the rada full of fascist politicians, members of the azov battalion and nazi officers. dont be a fool, and take them by random surprise bombing

that would make them ”martyrs” in the international scene and feed the trolls. russia is grinding them down slowly and exposing them to the world for what they are.

what’s the difference, the missile’s unstoppable anyway. let them work in underground bunkers, like poroshenko wanted for donbass’ school kids.

i seem to remember remember them saying after mariupol fell it was all gonna be down hill for the russians. the ukraine wouldn’t last longer cause their crack troops were done. this war would be over soon.

3.5 years later, when pokrovsk falls. i’ll believe it when i see it.

you fail to understand the meaning of ‘down hill’ in american vernacular. either that or you seem to speak with mixed alliances.
