The Southern Grouping of Forces reported that unmanned systems unit operators had suppressed a Ukrainian counterattack attempt in the Konstantinovka direction.
According to the Ukrainian tactical plan, the first group of Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) servicemen advanced along the main Osykovo–Novoselovka road, supported by a tank, in an attempt to divert the attention of Russian reconnaissance. Meanwhile, a second group of ten servicemen accompanied by armored vehicles attempted to advance from the dam side, hoping to catch the Ukrainian soldiers by surprise.
However, Russian drone operators detected both maneuvers in time. First-person view (FPV) drones struck the advancing groups, resulting in the destruction of all Ukrainian servicemen and armored vehicle crews involved in the assault.
The Southern Grouping emphasized that Kyiv is attempting to offset its frontline setbacks with so-called “media actions.” “Despite losses in manpower and military equipment, the AFU are conducting insane and senseless counterattacks to demonstrate their ability to resist along the line of contact to their European sponsors. Another ‘media breakthrough’ in the Konstantinovka area resulted in total failure,” the group concluded.
It should be noted that the situation for Ukrainian forces in Konstantinovka is reaching a critical point. According to military correspondents, scattered Ukrainian groups are trapped in various parts of the city, and Russian forces are suppressing all their attempts to escape the fire pocket.
The only artery leading out of the city through Alekseevo Druzhkovka toward Kramatorsk is under full fire control, which makes delivering reinforcements and evacuating practically impossible for the soldiers of AFU. Ukrainian units in the Konstantinovka area have lost the ability to rotate personnel or deliver supplies by vehicle due to constant fire control by Russian troops.
