Russian forces launched another series of nighttime strikes across Ukraine, targeting military facilities, logistics hubs, and production sites supporting Kyiv’s forces. The attacks, involving missiles, drones, and guided bombs, aimed to degrade Ukraine’s operational capabilities ahead of potential large offensives.
According to the air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian forces launched 6 Iskander missiles and 37 UAVs. Ukrainian air defense allegedly intercepted 2 Iskander-K missiles and 23 UAVs, while 10 decoy UAVs disappeared. The Ukrainian military confirmed damage in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kyiv regions.
Various military monitoring sources recorded numerous Russian strikes across Ukraine, including in the Donbass, Sumy, Kharkiv, Zaporozhie, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Cherkassy, Kyiv, Zhitomir regions. Targets included airfields, navigation systems, logistic hubs, military warehouses and workshops.
Russian Ministry of Defense: This morning, a group strike was carried out with high-precision long-range weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles on key production sites for unmanned aerial vehicles and infrastructure facilities of military airfields in Ukraine. The objectives of the strike have been achieved. All designated objects are affected.
In Mykolaiv region, an Iskander-M missile strike crippled the Voznesensk military airfield, destroying military radar landing systems and navigation infrastructure, disabling the base for night operations. The facility had served as a key hub for Ukrainian drone launches, including reconnaissance and combat models.
A logistics base in Mykolaiv city, where a sea port used for maritime drone operations is located, was destroyed by precision strikes igniting a 500-square-meter fire that consumed satellite navigation gear and lithium-ion batteries.
A series of explosions thundered in the central Dnipropetrovsk region with strikes recorded in different settlements. According to local reports, the wreckage of intercepted Iskander-K missiles inflicted damage in the towns of Podgorodnoe, Volosskoe and the city of Dnipro.
The border Kharkiv and Sumy regions are constantly pounded by Russian strikes.
Kharkiv saw concentrated strikes on repurposed industrial sites, including the “Effect” logistics center, where communications equipment and drone support systems of the Ukrainian military were destroyed by Iskander-K missile. Three Ukrainian soldiers were reported killed, and a supply warehouse servicing the Kupyansk front was damaged. Nearby residential areas suffered collateral damage when Ukrainian air defenses intercepted missiles, with one civilian killed and over 30 wounded from falling debris.
Meanwhile, in Sumy region, Geran-2 drones leveled a converted bakery serving as a drone maintenance depot of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the Russian border.
The strikes coincided with the final hours of Russian-US moratorium on attacking energy facilities, set to expire on April 18. Despite Kyiv violating the agreement with daily strikes, the overnight attacks avoided Ukrainian power infrastructure, possibly reflecting ongoing backchannel talks between Moscow and Washington.
