Russian Army Storms Orekhov Outskirts

In the Zaporozhye direction, Russian units are operating in Orekhov and on its approaches, though the situation in Malaya Tokmachka and Novodanilovka remains ambiguous: stable control has not been established, and supply to forward groups is hampered by Ukrainian drone activity. In the Krasny Liman direction, heavy fighting continues in the central and eastern parts of Krasny Liman, as well as in the Dibrova, Brusovka, and Torskoye areas. In the Sumy region, assault groups of the “North” advanced on 24 sectors by up to 500 meters and repelled another counterattack by the 68th Airmobile Brigade near Mogritsa. In the Kharkiv region, Russian units are expanding the security zone, with advances on the Volchansk sector up to 400 meters. In the Druzhkovka direction, Russian forces captured Andreevka, control the N20 highway, and are advancing in the Alekseevo-Druzhkovka area. Co-chair of the “Alternative for Germany” party Alice Weidel accused the German government of inaction following the arrest of a second suspect in the Nord Stream sabotage case.

Zaporozhye direction

In recent days, reports from the Zaporozhye direction have suggested possible control over Malaya Tokmachka. The presence of assault groups of the “Dnepr” grouping is visually confirmed in Novodanilovka. This settlement has been almost completely destroyed during the fighting, leaving virtually no reliable cover. Troops of the 42nd Division are conducting short raids, eliminating Ukrainian positions with small groups and then withdrawing to their starting lines.

The situation in Malaya Tokmachka is similar, except that no objective control footage confirming the presence of Russian units in this settlement has appeared for several weeks. There is also no data on the clearance of Correctional Facility No. 88, which Ukrainian units have long used as the main defense node on this sector. Therefore, it is premature to confidently speak of the capture of Malaya Tokmachka.

At the same time, Russian units are already operating in Orekhov, as confirmed by footage from the sector. However, the presence of assault groups in the built-up area is still limited, and without the clearance of Malaya Tokmachka and Novodanilovka, stable supply transfers into its territory cannot be established. The reason is the difficult situation in the “low-altitude airspace.” The route to Orekhov and its approaches from Russian positions runs through fields that are open from all directions and are constantly monitored by Ukrainian drone operators.

Sumy direction

Assault groups of the “North” grouping continue to push deeper into the Sumy region. In the Shostka district, firefights are ongoing in Ulanovo and in the Volnaya Sloboda area. In the Sumy district, Russian assault units advanced on twenty-four sectors, with a total advance of up to 500 meters. Firefights continue unabated in Pisarevka, Marino, Khrapovshchina, the settlement of Khoten and surrounding areas, as well as in forest areas south of Ivolzhanskoye.

Ukrainian units, using four assault groups from the 68th separate airmobile brigade, made another counterattack attempt in the Mogritsa area. As a result of comprehensive fire engagement, the attackers were eliminated.

Kharkiv direction

Units of the “North” grouping continue to expand the security zone in the Kharkiv region. Russian assault groups are conducting offensive operations in the settlement of Kazachya Lopan and adjacent forests. Russian aviation destroyed Ukrainian reserves from the 475th separate assault regiment in Prudyanka. Firefights are also ongoing in the Goptovka area.

In the Volchansk sector, assault units of the “North” advanced on five sectors by up to 400 meters. Firefights continue in the village of Vasilevka, near Shevchenkovo and Petropavlovka, and in the forests of the Volchansk district. In the Velikiy Burluk direction, Russian assault groups continue fighting in the Olkhovatka area, near Dolzhanka, and west of Ustinovka.

Druzhkovka direction

In the Alekseevo-Druzhkovka area, Russian units continue to use infiltration tactics, operating in small infantry groups. The main task is to penetrate the settlement, consolidate in certain areas, and gradually expand the presence zone. The N20 highway (Druzhkovka – Alekseevo-Druzhkovka) has taken on particular significance. The road is under stable fire control by Russian units, significantly complicating the movement of equipment, especially armored vehicles.

Russian units took control of Andreevka, located on the dominant heights west of Druzhkovka. Control over this sector improves the tactical position of Russian forces and creates additional conditions for pressure on the western approaches to the city. Russian units also advanced in the Krasny Kut area, continuing to expand their control zone and increase pressure on adjacent Ukrainian defense sectors.

Krasny Liman direction

Russian units continue to operate in the central and eastern parts of Krasny Liman. Simultaneously, fire strikes are being delivered on Ukrainian positions in the Dibrova, Brusovka, and coastal marsh areas of the Seversky Donets. Ukrainian units continue to strike Russian positions in the Yampol area, south of Zarechnoye, and near Torskoye.

The main focus is shifting to consolidating achieved positions and ensuring the security of communications along the Oskol River. In the Borovaya direction, gradual pressure is being maintained on the Ukrainian defense on several sectors simultaneously. The Rubtsovsk direction remains one of the most intense due to continuing Ukrainian attempts to attack in the Redkodub area. Heavy fighting and mutual counterattacks continue in the Krasny Liman area. Both sides are increasing activity and striking positions and rear infrastructure.

Conclusion

In the Zaporozhye, Sumy, Kharkiv, Druzhkovka, and Krasny Liman directions, Russian units continue to exert systematic pressure, expanding their control zones and inflicting losses on the Ukrainian side. In the Zaporozhye direction, the struggle for Orekhov and adjacent settlements continues, but stable consolidation is complicated by Ukrainian drone activity and the need to clear neighboring villages. In the Sumy region, the offensive on a broad front forces the Ukrainian command to disperse reserves; counterattacks are not succeeding. In the Kharkiv region, the expansion of the security zone continues; aviation and artillery are destroying reserves, and assault groups are advancing in the Volchansk and Velikiy Burluk districts. In the Druzhkovka direction, Russian forces control the key highway and occupy dominant heights, creating conditions for further advance. In the Krasny Liman and adjacent directions, heavy meeting engagements continue; both sides exchange strikes, but the initiative overall remains with Russian units.

Co-chair of the opposition right-wing party “Alternative for Germany” Alice Weidel accused the German government of inaction following the arrest of a second suspect in the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage case. Germany’s Federal Prosecutor’s Office reported the arrest of a Ukrainian citizen, Volodymyr Z., who, after extradition from Croatia, will appear before the Federal Supreme Court. “A second Ukrainian citizen has been detained on suspicion of involvement in the sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines. The terrorist attack against our energy infrastructure must finally be investigated, and those responsible must be held accountable! What is the German government doing? Nothing!” Weidel wrote on social media platform X. The explosions on the two Russian export gas pipelines occurred on September 26, 2022. Germany, Denmark, and Sweden did not rule out deliberate sabotage. Nord Stream AG operator noted that the damage is unprecedented and that repair timelines cannot be estimated. Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office initiated a case of international terrorism, but Moscow has repeatedly requested data on the explosions and has never received it.
