Russian Army Repels Ukrainian Attacks, Destroyed Another S-300 Air Defense System (Videos)

The Russian military has repelled another wave of Ukrainian attacks and destroyed an S-300 air defense system of Kiev forces, the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a briefing on January 27.

According to the ministry, the Russian Zapad Group of Forces repelled five attacks by Ukraine’s 32nd mechanized and 103rd territorial defense brigades near Sinkovka and Terni in the direction of Kupyansk. The ministry said that Kiev forces lost 25 troops, two armored fighting vehicles and three motor vehicles.

Meanwhile in the Krasny Liman direction, the Russian Tsentr Group of Force repelled two attacks by the 63rd Mechanised Brigade and the 44th Rifle Battalion of Kiev forces close to Yampolovka and Chervonaya Dibrova, the ministry said.

In addition, strikes were delivered against gatherings of manpower and hardware near Kirovsk and the Serebryansky forest. Up to 100 Ukrainian troops, two motor vehicles, and one D-20 towed howitzer, were neutralized, according to the ministry.

The ministry also said that the Yug Group of Forces repelled two Ukrainian attacks close to Shumy and Bogdanovka, adding that the group targeted gatherings near Krasnoye, Kleshcheyevka, Andreyevka, Georgiyevka and Novomikhailovka.

Up to 250 Ukrainian troops, two armored fighting vehicles, three motor vehicles and one Akatsiya self-propelled howitzers were destroyed, pre the ministry.

In the South Donetsk direction, the ministry said that the Russian Vostok Group of Forces repelled four attacks by Ukraine’s 127th Territorial Defence Brigade near Priutnoye and inflicted losses on gatherings of Kiev forces close to Makarovka.

According to the ministry, Kiev forces lost 115 troops, three motor vehicles as well as two Akatsiya self-propelled howitzers.

Russian forces also struck several gatherings of manpower and equipment from Ukraine’s 63rd Mechanized Brigade close to Rabotino and Nesteryanka in the direction of Zaporozhye, the ministry said, adding that some 20 Ukrainian troops, one armored fighting vehicle and two motor vehicles were neutralized.

Moreover, Russian counter-battery fire destroyed one Akatsiya and one Gvozdika self-propelled artillery howitzers of Kiev forces, according to the ministry.

In the Kherson direction, the ministry said Kiev forces lost 15 troops and two motor vehicles to attacks by Russian forces. In addition, four Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers were destroyed by counter-battery fire

Additionally, the ministry said that Russian airstrikes, drone and missile strikes destroyed a S-300 air defense system of Kiev forces in the Cherkassy region, bases and air-delivered ordnance depots in the Kirovograd and Dnepropetrovsk regions as well as troop gatherings in 102 areas during the day.

Russian air defense systems also intercepted seven HIMARS and Vampire system projectiles during the day, according to the ministry. It added that total of 28 Ukrainian drones were intercepted near Zolotaryovka, Spornoye, Belogorovka, Kleshcheyevka, Nikolayevka, Kazachyi Lageri, Novaya Myachka and Peschanovka.

“In total, 568 airplanes and 265 helicopters, 11,283 unmanned aerial vehicles, 456 air defense missile systems, 14,805 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,210 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 7,881 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 17,940 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation,” the ministry concluded.

Separately, the ministry released videos showing mortars and tanks pounding Kiev forces and recent airstrikes which were carried out by Su-25 warplanes.

Overall, the situation along the front remains under the control of the Russian military. Kiev forces are not making any serious attempts to advance, still they are sustaining heavy losses in manpower and equipment.
