The Russian military continues to advance in the Dobropillia salient and the nearby city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk direction as of October 11, all while another push in the Dnepropetrovsk direction.
The Tsentr [Center] Group of Forces is slowly, but surely expanding its control in the Dobropillia salient, especially near Volodymyrivka, Shakhove, Sofiivka and Novopavlivka. Kiev forces are putting on resistance and launching counterattacks, but this pocket, which splits the salient, will likely get cleared within a few weeks.
Once the pocket between Volodymyrivka and Novopavlivka is cleared, Russian troops will likely focus on the ongoing attack on Zolotyi Kolodyaz at the peak of the salient.
Meanwhile in Pokrovsk, the Tsentr Group of Forces is now working to clear the southern outskirts of the key city. A new push near Chunyshyne, Novopavlivka and Lysivka are underway.
Russian troops are also advancing near Mirnograd, to the east of Pokrovsk. They have reportedly secured the ventilation shaft of the Kapitalnaya mine.
Kiev forces are losing ground around Pokrovsk every day. However, Ukraine is still prioritizing the defense of the city. While a calculated withdrawal is the most logical move, Kiev will likely opt to fight there to the last soldier in order to maintain its image in the media.
Moving to the west to Dnepropetrovsk, the situation of Kiev forces is even worse. The Vostok [East] Group of Forces have reportedly reached Oleksiivka after a successful push from Stepove and Verbove. Fierce battles are now taking place there, but Ukrainian troops will not likely be able to hold onto the settlement.
A new attack from Verbove towards Vyshneve was also reported, although it is still unclear how much progress was made there.
The capture of Oleksiivka and Vyshneve would set the ground for a possible breakthrough towards Oleksandrivka along the Vovcha River.
To the south in Zaporozhye, the Vostok Group of Forces is busy working to secure the bank of the Yanchur River between Novovasylivske, Okhotnyche and Poltavka. Ukrainian defenses in Poltavka itself appear to be collapsing. Once Russian troops cross the river there, Kiev forces will likely withdraw.
Overall, the recent developments show a complete lack of initiative from the Ukrainian side. While the Russian military is maneuvering from one area to another in Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye, Kiev forces appear to have no strategy aside from pouring more reinforcements into the Dobropillia salient and Pokrovsk, then sending whatever is left to other fronts.
