The Russian military has targeted command and reconnaissance posts of Kiev forces with long-range air and sea-launched precision-guided missiles, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on August 30.

The attack achieved its goals, ministry spokesman Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov said in a briefing, adding that all posts were neutralized.

Ukrainian media reported a large-scale Russian attack with missiles and drones on targets near the country’s capital, Kiev, in the early morning. Kiev forces claimed that all 28 incoming missiles and 15 of the 16 drones were intercepted. However, explosions were heard on the ground and casualties were reported.

During his briefing, Lt. Gen. Konashenkov also reported several advance attempts by Kiev forces in several directions within the special military operation zone.

In the Donetsk direction, the Russian Yug Group of Forces repelled five Ukrainian attacks close to Belogorovka, Zaitsevo and Krasnogorovka.

Up to 380 Ukrainian troops were killed and wounded in this direction, according to Lt. Gen. Konashenkov. In addition, four armored fighting vehicles, seven motor vehicles, two D-20 towed howitzers, one Msta-B towed howitzer and one Rapira anti-tank gun were destroyed.

Several ammunition and fuel depots of Ukraine’s 35th Marine Brigade were also targeted and destroyed in the outskirts of Prechistovka.

In the Zaporozhye direction, nine attacks by the 46th airmobile and 82nd airborne assault brigades of Kiev forces were repelled close to Rabotino and Verbovoye.

Meanwhile in the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Zapad Group of Forces repelled three attacks by Ukraine’s 43rd, 115th mechanized and 68th jaeger brigades close to Sinkovka, Sergeevka and Novoyeogorovka.

In the Kherson direction, Kiev forces lost 15 troops, two motor vehicles and one D-30 towed howitzer to Russian military fire.

Lt. Gen. Konashenkov also provided the following details during his briefing:

Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have neutralized manpower and military hardware in 138 areas.

In addition, the headquarters of the Donetsk Operational-Tactical Group and a signal node of the 24th Mechanised Brigade of the AFU have been destroyed near Rovnoye (Donetsk People’s Republic).

One aircraft of the Black Sea Fleet naval aviation destroyed four high-speed military boats with landing groups of up to 50 servicemen of the Ukrainian Special Purpose Forces in the waters of the Black Sea.

Air defense forces have destroyed one HIMARS multiple-launch rocket system projectile.

In addition, 28 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been shot down close to Shipilovka (Lugansk People’s Republic), Spornoye, Zeleny Gai, Verkhnetoretskoye, Vodyanoye (Donetsk People’s Republic), Ocheretovatoye, Pyatikhatki, Tarasovka and Berdyansk (Zaporozhye region).

In total, 466 airplanes, 247 helicopters, 6,234 unmanned aerial vehicles, 433 air defense missile systems, 11,570 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,146 fighting vehicles equipped with MLRS, 6,128 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 12,528 special military motor vehicles have been destroyed during the special military operation.

In addition, Russian news sources shared footage showing six recent strikes with Lancet loitering munitions against Ukrainian military equipment. One of the strikes destroyed an American-made M777 towed howitzer.

It’s worth noting that Russian air defenses intercepted in the early morning dozens of Ukrainian suicide drones over the northwestern region of Piskov as well as over the the central regions of Bryansk, Oryol, Ryazan and Moscow. The aviation of the Russian Navy also destroyed several speed boats in the Black Sea, killing or wounding dozens of Ukrainian special operators.

Despite deploying larger forces on the front and stepping up attacks on Russian territory, Kiev forces are still struggling to advance and sustaining heavy losses. Ukraine’s counteroffensive, which began more than eleven weeks ago, may be nearing complete failure.

the question remains where the drones attacking pskov airport really came from. what consequences would it have if they came from one of the baltic states?

the russians still – one and a half year into the war – lack a thorough validation of their objectives. not a single of the presented videos can be used to prove effective losses for the ukrainians. all that is to be seen is a little puff of smoke, and eventually some ukrainian soldiers rushing to the explosion site to examine what happened. a puff of smoke does not at all mean serious damage to military equipment. tanks and howitzers are not made of paper.

just breaking any one component of the tank makes it useless.
