More than 290 Russian airstrikes hit ISIS’s areas of influence in Syria’s central region in the first two weeks of April, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on April 14.
According to the London-based monitoring group, the airstrikes targeted personnel, hideouts, and equipment of the terrorist group near the towns of al-Sukhnah in the eastern Homs countryside, Ithriyah in the eastern Hama countryside and al-Resafa in the southern countryside of Raqqa.
“The intense airstrikes resulted in the killing of 17 members of the Islamic State group, and the injury of 11 others … amid information about other deaths, in addition to the destruction of ISIS vehicles,” the SOHR said in a report.
The Russian Aerospace Forces stepped up its combat operations in central Syria in the last two weeks in response to a few attacks by ISIS cells.
Meanwhile on the ground, Syrian government forces have been reinforcing their positions in the region, especially in the eastern Homs countryside. The forces also continue to conduct combing operations in different parts of the region on a regular basis.
The Syrian and Russian military measures will help crop ISIS operations in the central region. However, it will take much more efforts to end the terrorist group’s insurgency.
Russia give the Syrians more of those missiles from Ukraine and tell them to do half an hour non stop rapid firing til the invading forces are all GONE. Give SYRIA more tanks too!
No-one has believed in these “news” in years.
In Syria locals are called ISIS.
In Ukraine, locals are called naZis.
One thing is common, though, civilians are bombed by Putin naZis
